My LO2 was also swaddled for a really long time. She just couldn't sleep without restriction. At the 6-6.5 month mark though she started turning in her swaddle and we switched to the Zipadee Zip (which my petite young lady still wears at nearly 2 years old).

I think around 4 months when she learned to roll. I still swaddled for naps in her swing after that because she would sleep so much better and she couldn't roll in the swing.

I think my son was also around the same age.
