I'm currently on the mini pill and I'm not a fan. My Dr said that I can switch to a combination pill when LO is 6mos+ and I'm nursing/pumping 5 or more times a day.
If you were on the mini pill, when did you switch to a different contraceptive, and what were the conditions under which you switched? If you were still BF-ing when you changed, did it affect your supply?

I will switch when I stop nursing....hopefully around 12-18 months. The mini pill does not suppress my crazy periods.

I switched when I stopped pumping. They told me it was only 85% effective without lactating. Eep no thanks

I switched to a combo pill when we weaned at 8 months. I hated, hated the mini pill. I had a weird period every two weeks on it even when I took it correctly. Now, the combo pill has killed my sex drive.

@autumnlove: yeah I'm having terrible periods on them. I can't wait to switch.
@cascademom: I had that problem with a couple different combo pills. I think I've gone through 6 different types before I finally found one that worked for me. I can't wait to get back to it!! Haate this stupid mini pill.

@Bookish: I went back to my previous combo pill, Zarah. I'm hoping when I go off of it to TTC again that my period comes back like before. Once I got on Zarah, the stupid mini periods stopped. Such a relief.
