Ah. The age old question. Lol
We are still rearfacing T at 15 months. It's still going great. He doesn't have any problems. DH is excited to turn him around at 2 so he can see him, talk to him, etc. I am too honestly (plus easier to put him in the seat!!) but I don't want to rush FF if we don't have a reason to switch necessarily at 2.
When did you turn and why?

26 months. No real reason (I think we were also just excited to see if he would like it better?)...but it did make LO much happier in the car.

2 months before LO 1 turned 3...because it felt like it was the right time. We switched LO 2 at 2 because she really wanted to face forward like big sis.

Around 26 or 27 months. LO has really long legs, and they were all balled up and it was very difficult for me to work around her to pull the straps tight enough. I just felt like I could get her in much tighter once we turned her around. She loves being able to look around and talk to me about what we are passing.

I think it was 25 or 26 months. I only did it because I was due with DS soon and with his seat now in the middle her seat wouldn't fit RF behind our seats without moving the chairs all the way up. I can't drive that close.

We haven't switched yet, he turns three today. He doesn't know any different and doesn't complain. I strongly feel that it's safer and intend to keep him RF until he reaches 40lbs, the limit of his seat. He's 37lbs now, so we'll see how long we make it. Still RFing in my car at 30 months, but we had to flip him in my mom's car because of seat angles and such. Right now he seems ok RFing in one and FFing in another, so hopefully he'll be RFing for awhile (I'd like to make it to 3.)

32 months. It was just way too hard to put her in the seat and she is super tall! She never complained but it was more about the ability to get her in the seat.

He's 27m and still RF. We will probably switch him this summer. He fits fine in my car, but it's pretty tight in Hubs's car.

Will will probably turn her around 28 months- shortly before the new baby is born. We could have them both rear facing but the drivers seat would have to be uncomfortably close to the steering wheel, and I think it's safer for the driver to be comfortable. So far, at almost 22 months she doesn't seem to mind so I am in zero rush to switch.
Eta: she talks to me and looks at me in the mirror in front of her anyway. Not that me looking at her is particularly safe while I'm driving anyway...

LO is still RF at a few weeks shy of 3. We definitely have no problems talking when she is RF (sometimes I wish for peace and quiet lol), and I don’t see a need to see her more, as I’m driving and the fewer distractions the better. We don’t have any trouble getting her into the seat, she gets herself in and out of her seat. So, we’ll be leaving her RF until who knows when.

We have a car seat mirror and have no issues talking and seeing her with her RF. She's 19 months. We don't plan to switch until she's at least 2. Even for car seat haters, I have heard mixed things about whether turning them around helps the situation so that would be a total last resort for us.

26m (just recently) and I was not happy about it. Being 7+months pregnant, I just couldn't get him in there anymore when he was RF. Plus, when his little brother comes in July, DS1's carseat wouldn't fit RF behind one of the seats (so baby could be in the center).

@ValentineMommy: Just fyi, the recommendation is to put the FF child in the center position. The infant is safer simply because they're RF, so you put the "least protected" child (in this case the FF child) in the most protected seat (the center seat). http://thecarseatlady.com/center-or-side/
But I can see how that might be hard to do with having to buckle in the older child.

Just before 2. DH had surgery and it was easier for him to buckle him in. It was also easier for DS to climb in by himself.

I'm thinking I will once he turns 2, which is in 2 months. He doesn't mind being RF right now, but I think he'll enjoy FF more. I might have him FF this weekend in DH's car since we're driving 8+ hours. Can't entertain him that long RF.

21 months for J, because L came along and we could only have a rear facing seat behind the passenger. L is 14 months and no where near ready to FF, my goal is 2 years again...hoping to make it this time!

She's still RF, but she's only 13 months. I'm not wedded to waiting until the very last possible minute to turn her around. She's comfortable now RF, so that's what we will keep doing. I figure, the closer we can get to 2, the better. If a compelling reason comes around to switch before that, though, I'll entertain it.

DS: 26 mo. He hated RF and being in the car. FF made a huge difference for him.
DD will be RF as long as she can be. She is small and after doing a lot of research RF, even with legs jumbled, is WAY safer than FF.

20 months. DS was getting really fussy in the car, so we decided to switch him for a long road trip we were taking, and he was instantly happier. We kept him FF even after our trip.

I plan to keep my DD rear facing as long as I can. I feel like every parent has something they are super anal about and this is my thing. I feel really strongly about it.

We did just last week at 33 months. Needed to turn it around to move it so when LO2 arrives then the infant seat will fit rear facing. TBH I hate it. LO hates having her legs dangling down in front of her and I can't see her in the mirror now - I have to physically turn my head to see her which I hate. Also I find it a lot harder getting her in and buckled up when she's FF. Going to get LO2 a more compact seat with high RF limits to RF until at least 3.

We waited until he was 3.5 -- even though he was tall, it was no biggie because he didn't know any different. The research is pretty convincing and we got a seat that was good for extended RF.
I will say it is a lot easier getting him buckled in now!

Still RF at 23 months, and we plan on keeping her rf until she outgrows her nextfit's limits so it should be a while. She has a mirror in front of her so she looks at us and talks to us all the time with it, or points out things on the road ahead, etc and doesn't seem to have any trouble seeing it the windows so we have no incentive to turn her

Also, I'm curious why it is easier to buckle them in ff? I can't picture it being any easier lol, but maybe that's because I have a small car and it is different in bigger vehicles

@fairy: I have a Mazda 3, and it's easier for him to climb in himself. I also have more room to get in there and buckle him since he's more upright than tilted back.

At 30 months, we are still RF. We plan to keep him that way until he overcomes the weight limit since it's safer. We did move him to FF for a little bit right before we switched cars just because it was literally becoming impossible to get him in and out, but once we got a different car, we flipped him back around. I was expecting it to be a battle, but he's been totally fine with it.

@kiddosc: Sadly, I already knew the middle seat was best for DS1. Unfortunately, because of his height/weight and my being so pregnant, I physically couldn't get him in and out of the car in the middle seat.
