Or LO1 and LO2 about LO3, etc.? And how? How old were they? Did they understand?
LO is almost 3 and pretty verbal. I think he would parrot "baby in mommy' belly" to everyone without a ton of awareness of what that means lol. We haven't said anything about baby in front of him (still suuuuper early, so I'm really nervous).
Curious how and when others told their older LO(s) about the new baby?

We are going to wait until after the first trimester screening, at least. Ideally until after the anatomy scan, but I will probably have to take her to appointments with me before then. She will be 3 in April.

LO was 2 (couple of months shy of 3) when we told her. She's 3 now and will be 3.5 when baby is born next month. She's very very verbal and did end up telling some ppl at church. We told her after about a month.
I wouldn't tell too early. We told her baby is coming in February and she's been asking if it's February since like September.

We told LO1 a few minutes before we announced it to the world. But I don't remember when that was.

i told him as soon as i got my BFP, right after DH went to work. I waited till the evening to tell DH because i wanted to make it fun. DS was about 2.5 years old. I don't think he fully understood what i was telling him. I think he has really gotten it since he could see my bump and understand there is a baby in there that will come out eventually and be his brother.

When we were pregnant with LO2, DS wasn't old enough to understand or really talk about it until we were far enough along. Now, we are expecting LO3 and DS is almost 4. We waited until we were ready to go public to tell him. I think I was 12-13 weeks along when we told him. And a few days after he announced it to his Sunday school teachers

I can't remember if it was closer to 12 weeks or 20 weeks, but definitely after we were comfortable with her sharing the news. She was young (they are 26 months apart) but very verbal!

I told LO 1 about LO 2 right away but she was 7 months old!
I told LO 1 and LO 2 about LO 3 around 8 weeks. They were 3 years old and around 21 months. LO 1 told everyone at school about "her" baby in mama's tummy right away.

I don't really remember because he was just under a year when we found out and didn't understand anyway. He was definitely at the U/S when we found out the sex at 16 weeks so I guess before then!
Now that my oldest is 3 and can understand we would wait until we are comfortable that the baby is healthy and it's starting to get obvious but before someone else could spill the beans. I think it's tough at that age because waiting 4-5 months or more seems like such a long time!

I think around 13 weeks once we knew everything was ok and we k ew the sex.

She is 2 and we will wait until likely after the NT scan, maybe the anatomy scan. She keeps asking for a baby sister and I'm dying to tell her, but it's too early for us. Plus she'd tell everyone!

We told him pretty much right away but he was 19 months and didn't grasp it. Now at 22 months he still isn't sure what I'm talking about. If I said there's a baby in my belly! He says no!

We told her right away, she was about 28 months. But we told our close friends and family early with this pregnancy so it wasn't a big deal to us. She definitely told anyone who would listen that mommy had a baby in her belly though!

We told her from the beginning but she is a late talker so I am not worried about her telling anyone.

We aren't pregnant yet but we will tell DS once we are ready to announce to everyone. He is almost 4 and keeps asking for a baby brother or sister so I know he would spill the beans!

Right away. I think I told her (she was just shy of two at the time) and DH at the same time. I wanted her to know why I was so sick and couldn't play much. I had also told her when I was pregnant with the baby I miscarried. It didn't mean anything to her, she was way too young to grasp pregnancy then.

I waited until after our first scan (emergency scan at 8 weeks). She likes to say hi to the baby - and say she has a baby in her tummy! - but it really started to hit home once we got the baby's room ready and got out the baby toys.

We plan to wait until at least after the NT scan, and possibly later if we can manage it. I have had two losses while TTC #2 already (one at 12 weeks) and I am so glad that LO doesn't know. It would have broken my heart even more to have to tell her.

Immediately. But she was 11 months old so it didn't matter. She understood pretty quickly though. Buy the time the first tri was over she could.kiss my belly and tell me that's where the baby was.

DH told DD1 before I could stop him, probably at 7-8 weeks or so. She would have been a few months shy of 3. We had an early ultrasound because I had miscarried the month before. She didn't tell anyone until after the anatomy scan when we found out she was getting a sister.

When she was 3 months. She didn't understand at all. But the second they met it was like they had always been here together. Like he just fell right into place.

After our NT scan, she was just past 3 years old and would have told everyone. By a week later we were getting congratulations from her friends parents because the news had made it home so glad we waited.

Our neighbors didn't tell their 3 y/o until the mama was about 6-7 months along. Funny enough, we all talked about it in front her of plenty of times (hello oblivious kids, ha!), but she didn't want to tell her until closer to her due date. Once they told her, she literally talked about it all of the time.
