DD was 18 months and we plan on changing DS over at about the same age.

@IcebergMom: it went really well. I wrote a post about the experience. She regularly naps 3-hours. The biggest change is that she wakes up at 6 am and comes running down the hall to our room every morning. When she was in the crib, she would just play in there until we went to get her.... We no longer have the luxury of sleeping in until 7 or 8.

DS is 30 months and still sleeps in his crib. He is a really good sleeper and I have no intention of disturbing that for now. We have baby 2 arriving at the end of the year and we will need the crib then, so I suppose we will transition when he's closer to 3.

I was planning on 20 months but I chickened out and purchased a second crib for the baby!

Unless he starts climbing out sooner, not until 2 years at the earliest, maybe even later! Baby 2.0 is due when he is around 26 months, but we may limp along using the pack and play in our room for a while too. We'll just have to see where we are as we get closer.
