We got a bunch of art supplies for the kids, and put them in an art cart that the kids have free access to. Since then, they've been using the scissors a lot more than in the past for various crafting projects.
We used to supervise it closely, but now the kids use scissors on their own. Our youngest is three. We've gone over safety basics, and still give them verbal reminders to be careful.

Last week. She cut her hair. I think she learned her lesson though so she still has access to them.

We started around Christmas so 32m. She got s huge arts & craft bin (suitcase) my ILs put together. She does not have free access to the scissors. Only when there's an adult in the room.

My son has free access to scissors and glue, he's 4...I've not had the situation where he's misused them, but now I am wondering if I should maybe put them away?

We gave DD her first pair of scissors around 25-26 months and she used them supervised only. They were also put away and only taken out during crafts time. Around 32 months I forgot to put them away one time and, after seeing she was fine with them, I left them in her art drawer for her to use freely. She pulls them out a lot to work on art projects and has not misused then yet. I do remind her on occasion to be careful but she's very good with them.

We gave the "kid" scissors to her a few months before she turned 3. They're not sharp at all, so I trust that she can't do a lot of damage.

Around 2. We have pinking safety scissors that can't really cut anything but paper.

I think it was around 2 1/2. We don't let him use them unsupervised though. He is too curious with them. Just the other day he tried to cut his hair with them "like Gram's scissors". (My mom is a hair stylist!)
