My son doubled his before 4 months - he was born 5 lb 5 oz and at 4 months he weighed 11 lb 9 oz. So probably around 3.5 months.
When did your LO double their birth weight?

Just before she hit 4 months .
I posted about it a while ago because I was worried too. Here is the link.

@Mrsbells: Oh, I'm not worried about LO's weight gain. He's still gaining quite a bit!

Oh sorry I must have misread. I was worried because I thought my LO might be behind in her weight gain. But turns out she was just about average.

She just doubled it recently. She was born at 8 lb, 5 oz. Two and a half weeks ago at her 4 month appointment, she was 16 lb and yesterday she was 17 lb, 3 oz so sometime in between.

@Mrsbells: Nah, I'm just making conversation. He's a peanut, but he's gained like 9 lbs since birth : ) I do think it's common for growth to slow after the first few months though!

6 months. She was 6lb 1oz at birth and 12lb 4oz at her 6 months appt. Like I said on the other thread, she didn't have that initial jump b/c of her tongue tie, but has followed the "normal" 3-6 month growth patterns.
What really stunk about it is since it wasn't causing her to "lose" her pedi wouldn't recommend clipping it even though I expressed great feeding issues. We had to go on our own to find a pedi dentist that was willing to do it & actually got a small lecture from our pedi when he found out.... Now that it's taken her longer to double, I got alot of pressure to start solids. Took quite a bit for me not to pass the buck back to him when he brought up her slow gain.
Sigh... I wish we could find another pedi! Blegh! lol

@winniebee: my baby was gaining weight like a champ until we tried to reintroduce the bottle and then it slowed down to only 1 oz a month in weight gain. Butnow that she has started solids its back up again

@runsyellowlites: Ugh that's so stressful! I am glad that her issue resolved though.
@Mrsbells: That's good that she's doing so well now!

She hasn't yet and is almost 7 months.
But she is a pretty small baby and weighed 7.13 at birth. That's a lot of weight to double!
