DS has always been a high needs sleeper, so I was surprised when he dropped his nap over a month ago (he'll be 3 on Saturday 
) I figured he'd be a napper until 4! 
If we have a long drive we still try to time it for midday since he'll have a quick car nap, but for the most part... we've been nap free for over a month at just shy of 3!

DD seems to have dropped her nap most days now, starting about a month ago. I don't mind it at all, I love the early bedtime and we can do more on weekends!

DD turns 3 in Feb and still very much needs her nap. None of her friends IRL take a nap anymore.

2 months shy of 3. At 3.5 he usually still will take a car nap if we are in the car for awhile and it's after 1:30.

DD1 is 3.5 next month and she still takes a 2 hr 15 min nap every day. She doesn't always fall asleep, (she sleeps more often than not though), but even if she doesn't sleep, she lays in her bed and reads books until her tot clock tells her it's time to get up. I have no plans of stopping her nap any time soon!

My LO1 is not napping at home at 2.5 but still does at daycare. (So I didn't vote.)

E is 3.5 and will still nap most days. It takes him longer to fall asleep, but when he does, he sleeps for 2 hours. I think he's probably more ready to give it up than I am.

DS still takes naps on the weekends but usually doesn't during the week. He definitely still needs to but his schedule doesn't allow for it, unfortunately! He makes up for it during 3 or 4 hour naps on the weekend. Makes it hard to do anything fun with him though!

this thread scares me, haha. My son turns three this weekend, but he still has his afternoon nap and it's always wonderful - especially if both kids are sleeping at the same time. I'm so not ready for it to stop!

I thought we were done a couple of months ago, but he just started back and is now taking like 3+ hour naps every day. He's 3.5.

Mine is about to be 3 and still takes naps, but sometimes she skips them and is fine. I really, really, really, try to get her to take one daily, though!

Mine will be three in January and is 60/40 naps/no naps. Some days she's fine not napping and others she passes out before dinner. If it's a no nap day I can't go anywhere by car or stroller after one because she'll nap. Not my favourite.

Okay..... so E is almost 2.5 and she hasn't had a nap for three days in a row now and is refusing her nap today too. I'm gutted.... I think this is it for naps and this thread seems to agree. Nooooooo!

@Cherrybee: my almost four year old is a big sleeper, and still naps 2+ hours a day, and he skipped yesterday. I would chalk it up to holiday craziness.

Still going strong at 2 year 9 months. Some days she just stays in the crib without sleeping, but she takes the nap more often than not. All of her friends within 2 -3 months of her are still napping.

She is 2.75 and fighting naps hard on the weekends. But she usually ends up napping for at least an hour. Not looking forward to no nap days.

We are having major weekend nap stoppage issues! He naps most days at preschool but now when it's just me and him, no. And no nap on Christmas Eve or Day (even though we were home in his own bed around nap time). He's never skipped two in a row before!

When did things start to change?? Did the naps just shorten on their own?

DS is 6.5 and still naps on the weekends and during the summer! But he also wakes up early. He'll still wake up early without the nap and he's just grumpy without it.
He sometimes wouldn't nap at 3, 4 and 5 (we would just have quiet time instead). I would say he was 50/50 during those years.
DD stopped taking naps at 2.5, then started again when she was in preschool at 3.

2.5, and she gets up before 6 AM. My youngest stopped napping for a while at just over 1, but started again at 21 months, taking 1 shorter nap. Occasionally, my oldest will take a catnap during the school week, usually on the 30 min drive home from school. When they're sick they'll nap. They have low sleep needs.

@Cherrybee: my 3yo had gone through a few phases where she wouldn't sleep for nap for a week or so. Each time I thought she was done and then she went right back to it.

@Mrs. Lion: he was still doing 1-2 hour naps but almost always crying when he woke up. We had a fluke day where he skipped a nap and he wasn't too crabby and that night he slept over 12 hours. His nighttime sleep had cut down to 10/11 hours from his previous 12/3. Now he's back to sleeping 7-730/8!almost every night. He sometimes falls asleep in the car for a catnap but it doesn't much affect his nighttime sleep either!

LO1 dropped his nap shortly after he turned 2. LO2 is still going strong at 25 months, and I'm hoping he continues until at least 3. Nap time is the only time I get a break during the day.

I really, really wanted to believe you @MamaBehr: but its now the 29th December and still no nap!! Agh! I took her to the farm this morning to tire her out but, nope, no nap. On the plus side, she has,been going straight to sleep at night since she quit naps (she used to act up for 2hrs every evening).

Ohhh mannnnnn.... LO is 2.5 and still naps 2 hrs... but has been having trouble falling asleep at night AND wakes up early, so this may be the beginning of the end

My daughter is 2.5, and still naps. But at home I can only get her to nap if I nap with her. Which is fine, because I'm pregnant, but if I ever have to get stuff done its hit or miss. Her dad has better luck, and she almost always naps at daycare.
