I swear it was in the hospital when he was born. I never watch TV but DS is drawn to the flashing light box wherever we go. He'd just stare at TVs in restaurants, the screens at the checkout in the supermarket. Big flash signs in the mall. He's noticed them since he was teeny tiny.
We're not really a TV watching family, it's funny he loves them.

She watches now and loves hte movement, but once she's old enough to know I'm going to have the TV off and do educational/play activities instead.

She watched (aka was in the room) when the Broncos and Steelers were in the playoffs last year. She was a week old!

If it was up to me I'd hold off but I know my mom has the t.v. on occasionally during the day so DD consequently gets t.v. time. At least it's Chinese and she's learning the language? I don't quite like it but what can you do. =P

DD was about 3 months when I turned on Disney junior to distract her during a diaper change. She only watched for a couple minutes but I guess it stuck be side now anytime she hears the theme song to "little einsteins" her head whips o the TV and she starts laughing. It's now our backup when she ever gets inconsolable, something about that song immediately stops her from crying. We totally downloaded the song for emergency purposes now

She gets occasional snippets of it here and there. We never sit down as a family to watch TV, though. The things she has seen have been sports and little bits of Bubble Guppies when I need her to calm down. Unless it's NFL season, the TV is off in her presence.

LO wouldn't watch tv until 20 months. I don't love her watching it still, but if I have a migraine and need her to sit still so I can lay down for a bit I'll turn something on. She won't watch it for very long still.

4 years old for my oldest, and the baby hasn't seen any yet. I'm sure my oldest saw some accidentally (waiting rooms, restaurants) but I would purposefully try to sit/be where we could read or color or visit instead. Now my six year old is limited to two hours/week or less. If we go for a really long car ride it might be more that week. With the youngest we plan to hold off at least until she is two, but hopefully we'll make it longer. We're just more of a book family, I guess.

My son was probably 18 months when he started watching TV for maybe 10 minutes at a time. My DD is only 8 months old but is exposed to TV because of my son.
She's not that interested in it but it's still on in the background. Ah well. I'm not sweating it.

I try not to, although occasionally I've showed her Yo Gabba Gabba videos on youtube during a long car ride, and she absolutely loves it. Crazy how they learn to love the TV when they're SO young!

We introduced some Baby Einsteins in the car at 15 months (DS is horrible in the car) - that stuff is like crack - he couldn't look away. I'm not sure he blinked. He's now 18 months and he probably watches about 10-30 min/day. More if we're in the car (and to be honest sometimes more if I have to get something done or if he is having a bad day - sometimes it helps restart his batteries ;-).
Looking forward to more spring weather like we've been having so we can spend more time outside!

My LO is 20 months and watches some stuff every Saturday morning. I don't mind so much because she'll sit and watch for a few minutes but then runs around to play for another few minutes, etc. If she sat there like a zombie for long periods of time then I'd stop it but, meh, it doesn't bother me too much right now that we have the TV on.

He will twist and turn in his activity gym if the football (soccer) is on television, and I think that he can recognise what's going on -- wishful thinking, I know, but I assume that his crying or laughing is the equivalent of commentary on the match...
