I feel like I'm the only parent of a 2 yr old girl that has absolutely no interest in Disney movies. I'm wondering if that's just her, or if it's going to take more time for her to get into them.

I think the first time we had Q watch Tangled (if you want her into Disney and princess this is a great one to start with!) was when she was over 2. She wouldn't sit through a movie for that long, she might have been closer to 2.25 or 2.5 years old....

My DD will be 3 in a few weeks and she doesn't watch them at all - several of her classmates mom's have told me they took their DD's to see Frozen and I am like really?? They sat thru it??

My son likes Cars and Cars 2, that's about it. It was recent though, maybe he was about 2.5?

C is still not into them, he will do a few minutes of Cars, Tangled, and Toy Story, but still doesn't have the attention span for it- 10 minutes or so is his max.
He does much better with shorter periods of time, like episodes of Super Why and The Cat and the Hat.

Ds liked Cars at about 2. He went through a Toy Story phase at 3. Now he's over Disney movies and is obsessed with Star Wars.
He'd play during movie time, though...he's never been really great at sitting through an entire movie...either am I, really, lol.

DD didn't really get into watching anything until about 3 but that is around when we started having Muppet Show Sundays; we watch one episode of the Muppet Show with DD after DS is in bed. As she has gotten older (almost 4 now) she will sit and watch a whole Disney movie but usually that is a special treat and we tend to steer away from the Princesses but mainly because they aren't free on Netflix like the classic movies are. Last week her and DH watched Aristocats and then I randomly caught her singing a song from the movie later in the week; it was so cute.

LOL I think all the Disney stuff is tossed on kids this age by their parents! There's no way M would have the attention span to "get" a Disney movie right now. Maybe at 3+?

@mediagirl: I think you'd be surprised! I was shocked at how my son got into Cars. Those people are marketing geniuses, after all, it isn't so much about the movie these days, as it is the products.

We put on Toy Story 3 for a little while last night because it was on TV and he was really mesmerized. We would change it to Olympics at commercials and he would start whining to change it back. I don't know if he "got" it or not, but he was definitely enjoying it. I doubt he would sit through the whole thing, though.

Last summer she got really into Disney fairies. We used to watch the tink movie over and over and over.
As of this fall she loves rapunzel, Ariel and Cinderella. She plays dress up in her princess clothes and can identify all the princesses but hasn't seen all the movies.

"Planes" did it for my son. He was almost 3 at the time. It was the first movie he'd ever seen all the way through and he is very active in general so we weren't sure how he would do, but he loved it and literally flew out of the theater.
He had watched some of "Fantasia" prior to that, but only in bits and pieces.

DS1 can't handle anything scary or frightening, so although we've tried it always gets shut off at his request during the first conflict. He's watched Mader's tall tales and some Curious George movies before without a problem. For example Brother Bear 2 is on Netflix and I put it on since he loves this book based on the movie, but a little girl drowns within the first few minutes and he freaked out (understandably!). He's 29 months.

At 4 & almost 3, the kids I watch are just getting interested (maybe over the last 6 months really). Their mom just shows them clips of favorite songs and fun scenes though. It started because they were planning a trip to Disney and she wanted them to have a better idea of the things they would see. They could probably sit through the length but there are quite a few scenes in each movie that they find too intense right now.

Well, at 21 Months, P now asks to watch "Brave" everyday. But, she hardly watches it. She likes the beginning and when Merida is riding her horse in the middle. Otherwise she goes on playing while it's one.

DS totally doesn't care for Disney movies...he's only 17 months though.

Over 2.5 and my LO will actually sit down and watch a whole movie, or at least most of it, if he's in the mood.

A is 17 months and will watch a few minutes of baby Einstein and that's it. I think it will be a while before she watches a full length movie.

My DD is 5 and still hasn't watched one all the way through. She gets scared easily. However she does love Disney princesses.
