DS will be 13-14 months when LO #2 is born. I'm thinking he'll still be in his crib, right?
When did your LO move out of the crib? And what did you move them into?

LO is 15.5 months old and still in his crib. I wouldn't want him to be able to cruise around his room on his own right now. I have twin cousins who were in their cribs until just before their 3rd birthday.

Will LO #2 sleep in a bassinet first or go right to the crib? You might be able to get away with using the same crib if your next little one will be in a bassinet for the first few months. I think if you do a floor bed you could start much sooner than if you use a traditional toddler bed.

@photojane: I'm thinking about having #2 in our room in a pack n play for a few months maybe.... That definitely could buy us a little more time!

@Running Elley: I think some Montessori moms do floor beds from birth, so I'd think 18 months would probably be fine if you went that route!

We moved DD out at 22-months to a twin-sized bed! We were preparing for her lil' brother to be born or else she probably could've been in there a lot longer, but the transition went so smoothly I'm glad we did it!

@Running Elley: you could even move the PnP into the baby's room an use it as a crib. It doesn't have to be in your room.

LO is still in his crib. He's turning 22 months. Will give him a few more months and then transition so the new baby (due in October) can use it.

I'm planning on keeping LO in crib as long as we can. Aka- until he starts climbing out

I asked my mom this and she said she generally moved us out of the crib when the next baby was on the way. My nephew is 26 months and still in his crib-- I'm shocked he hasn't tried to climb out yet!
