I think day care starting letting DD play with play dough at around 16 or 17 months as a "stretch" activity to prepare her for transition to the toddler room. I had never tried giving it to her prior to that since I thought she would just eat it!

DD just started playing with it this week, at age two and a half. It is mostly due to the fact that she loved "goo" (glue and liquid starch). She LOVES it!!!

I haven't had LO play with playdough yet. I was supposed to make some edible dough, but haven't had the chance too! Maybe this weekend.
