Last night I was in the kitchen and my husband was playing with our 6 month old. He yelled over to me, "I think she's trying to talk to me!" She was looking right at him, making noises and moving her arms around. It was cute that a. he realized she appeared to be trying to talk to him and b. that she was doing that!

I think LO tries to communicate with us. He looks right at us and babbles. He also puts his arms out to be picked up. He started this around 5 months.

DS is 4.5 months and will push away items he doesn't want...paci/toys/rice cereal. Last night I was being silly and he started laughing at me!

It started around 4 months, when she would push things away if she didn't want it. At 11 months, she really starts to communicate through pointing and whining.

She would coo to us pretty early, but. I think it really picked up around 5 months. She would squawk to get our attention and babble back to us.

My baby girl is starting to coo, and she's 6 weeks. So now we keep trying everything to get her to do it again!

Probably around 5 months was when it seemed like he was really trying to tell us something. Now, when we ask him questions or say things to him he responds with some "word" (a noise or screech of some sort). He's 7.5 mos

DD is 9 months and she talks All The Time. However, she doesn't usually seem to be talking to anyone in particular, so it's hard to tell if she's actually trying to communicate anything. She does watch me very carefully when I make any non-verbal noises or when I use baby sign.
She definitely communicates her needs through laughing and whining pretty effectively though...
