Did they request them or did you just start using shoes with laces?

We just started wearing them (3.5 yrs). It's a pain to keep them tied, so we only have one pair with laces right now. She can't tie them herself yet. ... she still prefers her cowboy boots to all other shoes anyway lol

We just bought DS his first pair of shoes with laces at 4.5. I foresee this being a giant pain, so it might be the last pair for some time.

My DD was 5. And let me tell you, it was the most frustrating thing ever to wait for her to tie them getting out the door and every time they came undone. Even last year was slow. It's much better now she's 7.

We received a pair of lace ups for DS when he was 18 months, but I tied them. However, velcro ones are so much easier so we've stuck with them. Plan to for awhile until he starts kindergarten probably when they say kids should be able to tie their own shoes.
