When did your LO's eye color change, if it did? Could you tell early on that it would?
I've heard 6-9 months is normal, but I wonder if you can tell their eyes are starting to get darker or something before. C has the prettiest blue eyes, and DH and most of his family have blue eyes, plus they are recessive in my family, so I think they will stay. But she is only almost 6 months now so I guess time will tell.

I've been wondering this too. R has blue eyes as well and I'm wondering if they'll stay. I have hazel and DH has brown but there are blue eyes in both of our families. R is almost 7 months.

I think it varies, but my baby is 3.5 months and her eye color has already changed. She was born with gray/blue eyes and now they are more like green/brown. My husband and I both have brown eyes although we both have green and blue in our families.

I'm not sure if there's any truth to this, but the ped at my hospital said that if your baby is born with greyish-blue eyes, then they will most likely change. If they are true blue, then they will most likely stay blue. Sadie was born with dark blue eyes, and they've gotten lighter, but are still very blue - she's 11 months. Dan's entire family has brown eyes & brown is dominant, so I was expecting brown, but it looks like she got my blue eyes!

@photojane: Interesting! Yeah, they are, and always have been, very blue. They are almost the same exact color as DH's, too. Mine are brown.

@Foodnerd81: I love that! Sadie's are the same blue as my dad's, so I always see a little of him when I look at her. It's so nice that even when he's not here, I'll always have that to remind me of him. It's neat seeing someone you love in your babe, isn't it?

Also curious! E still has blue eyes but I think they are here to stay. She only had a 25% chance of blue eyes!

@photojane: She actually looks a lot like DH, her eyes are just the most striking. But yeah.... everyone tells me so. Good thing I think he's good looking

I think what @photojane: said is true. If they look like real blue eyeseyes then they're blue. LO's were that grey blue and changed very gradually to hazel by maybe 5 months.

@Foodnerd81: I did this before Sadie was born, and it's interesting. We only had a 20% chance of having a baby with blue eyes, and we got one! It gives you the likelihood of different eye colors for your babes. http://genetics.thetech.org/online-exhibits/what-color-eyes-will-your-children-have

C's eyes only had a 10% chance for staying blue... But at almost 8 months, they're still blue!

@photojane: We have almost the same situation! My eyes are green and DH's are brown. We both have browns and blue/greens in our families, but knowing that brown is dominant, that's what we figured would happen. N was born with very dark blue eyes and already they have gotten lighter. They're such a pretty blue, but he's only 2 months, so who knows.

I think what was said about the greyish blue eyes is true. My 2 year old had greyish blue eyes that turned brown around 4 months, same with my 11 year old. Our 5 month old has very blue eyes, Dad has brown eyes and mine are green.

I hate admitting that I hope LO's eyes stay blue, but I really do. I of course would love her just as much if they went brown, but I LOVE the blue eyes. I always assumed our kids would look like DH since he's got all the dominant genes, but she has the bright blue eyes like me and I love that connection. Still bright blue at almost six months...

I'm super curious if DD's eyes will remain the beautiful shade of blue they are now. I'm not holding my breath though...I had blue eyes until I was FIVE YEARS OLD! And now they're hazel.

I can't remember when DD's changed but it was very gradual. They were pretty blue with a tiny hint of grey when she was born, then bright blue by 6 months, and now at 19 months, they're a blue/green/grey colour that changes depending on the light! I have bright blue eyes and was hoping her eyes would be my colour but it doesn't look as though that's going to happen...
