My LO's fell off so early! It was like 4 or 5 days. I was so worried we had done something wrong, but what could we do? Glue it back on? She was fine and has a lovely belly button now!

10 days, I was hoping it would fall off on my husband's watch. No luck there, I found it in his jammies with a little spot of blood.

It fell off while we were still at the hospital, so sometime within the first 7 days. Japanese hospitals give you the stump in a tiny cedar box with baby's name, birthdate, weight, and hospital name on it, so you can keep it. DH was a little grossed out when he looked in the box and saw LO's stump.

6 weeks! I thought it was never going to fall off. The pedi put some silver nitrate (or something, I don't quite remember) at the base of the stump to help dry it out and we were encouraged to bathe him and let it get wet to help as well.
