This thread may be controversial, but I am just curious as to when your pediatrician recommends dropping middle of the night feedings, either through weaning or CIO. Mine says at 9 months it is okay (this is her general advice, not specific to my baby). Others in her practice recommend earlier (I think 4-6 months). There are even doctors in NYC that think 2 months is okay for middle of the night feedings (crazy I know). It seems that all my friends have sleep trained for the whole night by 6 months (they are all WOHM at high intensity jobs).
By way of background, my LO is 7 months old and still wakes up once to eat around 2/3 am. When he wakes at 7, he generally isn't very hungry so just plays around while attempting to nurse. I am wondering if he could go until at least 5 am. I go back to work at a demanding job this week and am worried how I am going to do it since I get absolutely zero help at home outside of the nanny's hours (DH works 14 hour days). I know I have it pretty good, but either I or LO has trouble falling back asleep after the feeding so am generally very sleep-deprived.
