About a month or two ago, I noticed my now 2-yo was suddenly terrified of everything - horses, the dark (she *needs* all the lights on downstairs at all times - our electricity bill has skyrocketed!!), hallways... every day there's something new that she's scared of!

I would say early--though my LO is not afraid of too many things right now. She is 22 months, last summer we discovered she was afraid of the drawstring bridge at the playground and she's also afraid of the vacuum. I'm sure the dark and other things will be coming soon!

LO started crying yesterday when I was mopping, so all of a sudden she has a fear of the mop...so weird! she was like "NO mommy NO mommy stop it" and it came out of nowhere!

I don't recall DD doing this as a young toddler but she is almost 4yo and is suddenly afraid of many things she used to be afraid of like going to the doctor, she used to love it yesterday we were there and she was acting enough afraid that the doctor asked me about it.

My LO has been afraid of our robot vacuum for a few months now. Probably started around 14 months? She cries when it starts up! I tried making it not scary for her by telling her its name is "Dobby" and she will point and say "Dobby!" but she still gets scared if it is running

He's afraid of the vacuum but has been afraid of dogs for over a year. He's 21 months.

DS is 14 months and I'm not sure if this technically counts as a fear but any of his battery operated cars that move on their own scare the bejeezus out of him! Also, the vacuum cleaner. Used to LOVE it, now he crawls away and cries.
