I'm so happy I can finally say my LO is ONE! I'll probably say "she just turned 1" until she's 13 months.
I have no idea when I'll stop counting months, but I'm pretty sure I'll stop before LO turns 3?

hehe... I have already lost count! I think I lost count when he turned 2. Now I have to count from December (his birth month) to say he's 2 and ... 3 months. Haha.
I also have no idea how old I am. My mom had to correct me on the phone the other day. So maybe it's just me!

I think after LO turns one, I'll say "She's a year and three months...a year and 10 months...She's two. She's two and 5 months...etc." And I'll probably stop doing that at age 3.

@Mrs. Bee: Not gonna lie--it took a few seconds for me to do the math. Eek! I think I'll stop when she turns 2.
@mrs. wagon: HAHA. I forget how old I am all the time..
I'll probably do the same--give the year + how many months? That's what I do when people ask how long we've been married!

@Rubies: Okay I like your idea. Will just count til 13 months old since it's easy math for people. Then will do the year + 2 months.

I think I will stop when she turns 2. That seems to be how it works with clothing sizes. Before 2, they quote months but afterwards it just seems to be 2, 3, 4, etc.

Ill probably stop at 1. I stopped early with weeks too.

TBH, I never understood the month thing past 1 (though I can get on board with 1 + X months). LO isn't here yet, so maybe that's why?
A few years ago I asked a coworker how old her son was and she replied, "18 months." I say, "Oh! He's a year and a half already!" And she says, "No. He's 18 months." I was so confused.

I'll probably stop at 2? And that's likely only because I'm following clothing size numbers... I am now at the point where the weekly newsletters I receive remind me of how many months + weeks my LO is; I'm not aware of it otherwise!

When talking to parents of young kids or people around young kids a lot (teachers, etc), I'll say months until 18 months... sometimes til 2 years old. To the general public, I stop after 1! If they need further clarification, I'll do what Rubies said (1 year and x months). It makes it simpler for people and myself too!!

I don't have a LO, but I feel 18 months is a good stopping point? Even though I love all things babies, as a non-parent I cringe a teensy bit when I hear someone refer to their child as 20-something months old. I much prefer "one and X months" as many of you have said. It doesn't sound so much like you are trying to keep your toddler a baby!

I stopped after 2. Computing to months just took longer to do after that so I stopped.

@joyjoy: I don't think you were the confused one:)
@NYCaliMama: That makes sense alright. Most other people don't really care that much!
To be honest when you start getting to "27 months" etc I think it sounds a little bit silly. Even clothes are measured in years at that stage!

The doctor's office counts until 24 months and then switches to years + months until age 18.

Probably age 2, only because I am used to thinking in clothing sizes and those are up to 24 months then 2T.

@aunt pol: I literally stood there trying to see if I did my math wrong!

Once my child is a year old I'll stop counting their age in months. To me its easier to count in years and months, rather than in months alone
