I remember as a kid, I loved going in my mom and dad's closet and grabbing this or that and coming out in clothes way too big for me. 
They didn't have anything fancy but just having something of mom or dad's on made pretend play so much more fun!
What age does this start? Do you remember playing dress-up?

You know, I don't remember ever dressing up in anything. The most I remember is the Golden book about the little girl dressing up in mom's things like the big floppy hat and mom's red shoes.
I think the only time I ever purposefully dressed up was either Halloween or when playing My Pretty Pretty Princess (which I used to LOVE that game because of all the neat plastic accessories).

My sister and I played dress up all the time. We even put my little brother in dresses. Not sure how old. But my cousin's kids all started around 2 or 3.

@Smurfette: haha. My husband's sisters used to dress him up when he was a kid - they are 7 and 8 years older than him. The, they called him by the female version of his name.

@mediagirl: LOL! We are all 18 months apart. I still remember one time we put all the kitchen chairs in a row and pretended it was a train and we were all dressed up in our Sunday best,. He rocked that dress!

LO is almost two (less then a week!) and she loves dress up. For months she's been trying on DH's and my shoes, and she loves putting shoes on in general. She'll go through her drawers and make me put her mittens on her, or she'll spot my scarf and make me put it on her as a belt. She has a purse that she carries with her at all times, and it's full of bracelets that she's always putting on. She's very girly

I would say DD started getting interested around 15 months; DS is 15 months right now and he's been activley participating in dress up since about 12 months.

i don't know when we started, but my sister and i had some friends with great imaginations growing up. my mom kept us a box of things to dress up with and we had a blast dressing up & being different people!
