My LO is a drooler. She started drooling like a mother at 3 months, which led me to believe she was teething. She hasn't sprouted a tooth yet (she's almost 5.5 months now) but she's showing signs. We go through bibs like there's no tomorrow.
Once she sprouts a tooth, will the drooling stop until her next tooth is ready to come out? Or, is she a drooler for life?
Do they ever stop drooling?

hmm i think charlie stopped drooling around 13 months when he got his molars.

My LO stopped drooling by the time she got her first tooth around 7-8 months I think. I think every kid is different. Some drool longer than others it seems.

andrea is right (i already forgot). charlie drooled a lot those early months before he got his first tooth (at 7 months). after that it greatly reduced. i don't think he was a big drooler though because we never had to put a bib on him. and some kids just drool a lot more than others!

@Rubies: so does my lo! My husband's friend made fun of us because she was full of drool in our holiday card... but we have no pictures without drool!

25 months today and still needs at least one bib change a day. He has an attached frenum (tongue-tied), as is Rob Sr., and Rob Sr. needed a bib until he was 3!

mine is 16 months and still drooling...i think it's decreased a little bit from when he was younger but it's still way more than other kids i've seen around his age. he still has to wear a bib every day or his shirts will get super gross.

My LO is a drooler as well. All her photos has drool hanging off of her lip/chin also. We have to double up on her bibs now just so she doesn't get her clothes soaked. Even still, I'm changing her bibs all the time. I thought it was teeth too. There's been two white spots on her bottom gums for a month now. Still hasn't broken out.
@tina: My son has a short frenulum as well. Oddly, he was never a drooler.

M isn't much of a drooler. Even when she was teething she drooled just a little bit when her first tooth came in but hasn't drooled with 2-6.

@Rubies: I read that it does cause more drool. Our dentist has recommended that RJ and Rob Sr. come in for father/son frenectomies... haha. Apparently they do it with a laser so it doesn't hurt or bleed at all. We're considering it.

@tina: LO was snipped when she was 2 days old because she couldn't latch onto my boob and so hadn't eaten in 48 hours. It helped a LOT.

@Rubies: That's awesome that the snip helped with nursing!! We were super lucky in that it didn't affect his latch and hasn't seemed to affect his speech so far.
