Stockings were always first thing Christmas morning.
When we got old enough to do midnight mass, we'd be so tired when we got home, we'd wNt to sleep in. So we opened all our gifts at 3 am, went to bed, and did just stockings when we woke up.

We generally do them first thing. Sometimes last. We do St. Nick night here. I grew up with it and love the tradition for my boys. DH thought I was crazy at first but he is on board because his stocking gets filled too.

Stockings are always first on Christmas morning. I like the idea if leaving them outside the bedroom door once LO is older.

@Mrs Hedgehog: same here!
We were allowed to go downstairs and get our stockings and then we all gathered in one bedroom and opened our stockings together. Then once my mom was up and had coffee (haha) we go to open gifts!
@regberadaisy: Do you do Santa? If so, how would the stocking be full on Christmas Eve?

@MamaG: We're another St. Nick's family. I loved it growing up as it's almost like a mini Christmas.

@LindsayInNY: Everytime I see one of those christmas eve box threads I think to myself, that's why St. Nick's is awesome! Holidays PJs, movies, books, ornaments... everything you want to use during the holiday season, put it right into the St. Nick stocking.

First thing on Christmas morning! Usually we open stockings, then have breakfast, and then open the rest of our gifts.
