It's December, so I have an itch to start baking! When do you Starr and what do you usually bake?
I think I'm going to start with some buckeyes/peanut butter balls.

The women in DH's family always get together a Saturday in December to bake but things are a little different this year (some family drama) so I don't know that it will happen. I have 3 days off from work starting next Friday so I will probably start then!
Do you do plates for folks? I think the plates I'm most excited for are for people who really helped me during the first few months that J was home (lactation consultant, l&d nurses, OB, etc)

@babyjmama: I usually just bake and bring it in to my coworkers, who now expect it and start getting antsy if I miss bringing it in a week. I also bake about 7 different kinds of cookies and give it to my brother as a Christmas present because he's such a cookie monster. (No special wrapping, just stick it in a container because he told me to) But this year, I'm making plates for our housekeeper and my LO's daycare mommas.

@BabyBoecksMom: Oh yes, I have a co-worker who is a PHENOMENAL baker and if she didn't bring her gorgeous (and tasty!) cookies in I'd probably cry!! Mine are pretty simple, nothing fancy, but still tasty
My brother always just asks for the leftovers at Thanksgiving/Christmas since he's single and doesn't cook for himself generally

Well i made cookies last week and I made banana bread this morning! I thought about doing a cookie bake fest with a friend of mine, but I just don't think i'll have the time. I do have to bring desserts for DH's military christmas shindig, so I might do a platter of random goodies.

@blackbird: Oh...banana bread sounds heavenly!!! I have some bananas in the freezer...I may have to pencil that in for today

Eek. I feel like I'm late getting started this year!
Not sure of all the cookies I'm going to make this year, but definitely making my favourite ginger spice cookies. Probably some sort of shortbread and maybe some squares as well. I'm also bringing sticky toffee pudding to Christmas dinner with DH's family.

I'm starting today! I'm doing snicker doodles, m and m cookies and butterfinger cookies this year. Maybe more if I get the itch later.

I am going to make some treats starting next week. We are having a Christmas get together next Saturday, so I need one batch done. Probably wait till the next weekend for cookies, so they last longer.

@BabyBoecksMom: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/butterfinger-cookies-2/detail.aspx the dough gets really crumbly. This time I used full size butterfingers and I think that's why. I always used mini size ones before, which have more chocolate, so I think that helps w the dough texture. It's easiest to use a cookie scoop to portion out the dough.

I just baked for the first time in a looong time on Friday. lemon Bars! Will probably get around to some cheesecake brownies soon too!

I already made a few batches of pecan candies, not sure if I'll do much else. It would be fun to have a baking party.

I started 2 weeks ago and I am so far behind! We are having a big holiday party at our house on the 15th, and I usually baked 5-7 different types of cookies/treats. So far I've made peanut butter balls, chocolate cookie balls, and shortbreads! I have so much left to do! Ahhhh! So stressed!!!
