I've been doing laundry and tidying up the house like crazy for the last few days. Not that I'm complaining, it's pretty nice to have such a clean house and be ahead on all my laundry for the first time in forever. I'm wondering if this is the beginning of nesting or if I've just turned over a new house cleaning leaf? When did you start nesting?

Nesting never started for me, LOL. But as soon as my husband knew I was in labor he started cleaning up like a complete nutcase.

I started nesting 3 weeks before I gave birth!

I started nesting about a month before the baby was due. And it hasn't stopped! I'm constantly tiddying up. I think it hits people at different times, and I kinda think it depends on how the individual is when she's not pregnant. Like, I have a friend who is 7 months pregnant and she's been nesting since like- October. But she's a really anal, OCD-ish kind of person.

i had Liv on her due date and never had a nesting instinct lol. And I still dont have it. Id never clean if I had the option haha!

@BabyLove: Yep that's me :S I'm only 29 weeks, but I've been cleaining like a feind for the last 3 days. DH is going a little crazy because I'm after him like crazy to pick up after himself more than ever before. I just keep reminding him that its good that I'm cleaning more, and he should be happy about it!

Mine started around 24-25 weeks. I'm somewhat of a clean freak anyways, and we just finally finished renovating a large portion of our house, so I've been ready to tidy up for awhile!

@prettylizy- I was the same toward my hubs. He was probably beyond annoyed but he was smart to not express it. It's definitely a good thing (in my opinion). Why wouldn't you want to live in a clean space? The friend that I mentioned though, is really kinda mean to her husband. She found out the baby was a boy and immediately harassed him to get the room painted blue.. or else! Yikes.

I'm just starting the 2nd tri, and while I'm not, I swear my husband is. He spends ALL his free time now organizing and cleaning and rearranging furniture. And if he's not doing it, he's planning it or thinking about it, lol.

@BabyLove: smart man to not complain! lol! I'm certainly not mean, it's like I see the mess now more than ever and just want it gone. We're taking a truckload of stuff that has piled up in our garage to the dump this weekend and the thought of clearing out that space actually excites me! CRAZY!

I never nested with my firstborn. With my second, I was anxious that the crib still hadn't been re-adjusted so that it was in the top position...so I took it upon myself to re-adjust it. At 38 weeks with a 10lb baby, it was pretty difficult to reach into the crib to get to all of the nuts and bolts. Low and behold, the next day I went into labor.

I moved a month before the baby came... so I'm not sure if it was nesting or just wanting to get the house unpacked and together.

I'm 28 weeks, and I feel already like I'm being way more attentive to my house than normal. I'm not sure if this is the real "nesting" instinct though. I'm sad b/c we will be moving when baby is 4 months old, so we probably won't set up a nursery for her until we move to the new house...

I'm 24 weeks and no sign of it yet. I hope the urge comes soon! Our house can use a good deep clean.

I started nesting around 23 weeks or so. I'm currently 29 weeks and there is no sign of stopping! DH loves this!!

@prettylizy: Wondering the same thing! I have been on a cleaning and organizing spree since New Year's. I'm just over 20 weeks.

I started at ~20 weeks. For those of you who have gone through it, does nesting continue until you're full-term? I'm wondering if it slows down during the 3rd trimester...

I started around 23 weeks and switch between psycho cleaning and crazy organizing. I feel like I have 1000 home projects that I must.get.done.now! I can only imagine it's going to get worse.
