@pui: I bought the glass Dr Brown's and my daughter was fine with them when she was still a newborn but stopped taking them. Also my daycare doesn't allow glass. I now pump into the glass bottles (will fit Ameda and Medela pumps) because I like to limit plastic where feasible. The glass does tug down a little on the pumping bra but I am able to pump directly into them.

We registered for Born Free bottles, and loved them. LO never had a problem with them, and we used them from birth till he turned one (and dropped bottles). They were great!

I'm thinking I might end up with the glass Dr. Browns or Avent so I'm going to try the plastic Avent sample bottle that I got and a 3-pack of plastic Dr. Browns. I figure glass is way more expensive so I'll figure out quickly which brand he likes better and then I'll get that in glass.

I formula fed, so we used a LOT of bottles.
I hated the Avent. I felt that that let in too much air and caused her to overeat and projectile vomit all the time. We tried Playtex VentAire, which I liked but don't feel like the held up well. The bottoms started to leak after a couple months.
Overall, Dr Browns were my favorite. My DD had colic and gas issues and there was a noticeable difference when we used them over other brands. I'd absolutely recommend them.

I registered for Dr. Brown's preemie nipples, which I received, and some bottles I can't remember, because I never got them. When LO was here, I tried the Ameda bottles which came with my pump with the Dr. Brown's preemie nipple, and it was fine. I did buy a lot more of them, and I use them for both pumping and feeding. I had read that the nipple was more important than the bottle for encouraging breastfeeding, and that the slowest flow was best. The Dr. Brown's preemie nipples were the slowest flow I heard of. Many bottles and nipples are standard size, and you can use any standard size nipple with any standard size bottle. The Medela pump should take any standard size bottle. I did not care about glass or plastic, so I use plastic. I don't use a warmer, just a cup with warm water (from the tap).

We registered for the 4oz Dr. Brown's glass bottles (heard good things from a mom-friend about Dr. Browns). I've also heard that if you plan on breastfeeding you won't need more than 4oz bottles each feeding.
We also registered for the Kiinde Twist system because it supposedly is an "all-in-one" type system and I plan on pumping when I go back to work. Apparently you pump directly into the bags then feed from the same bags. http://www.amazon.com/Kiinde-TS-N-001-NA-Twist-Breastfeeding-Starter/dp/B00CXSPL24 You can also apparently use the same bags for storing purees (the bags themselves aren't reusable). It just seemed really easy. But they are new so I don't actually know anyone who has used them.
