I've already started buying some stuff for LO since a lot of fall clothing is currently on sale to make room for summer clothing.
I have a lot of 3-6 month Baby Gap clothes that I want to list in the Classifieds, so I'm trying to figure out when most people start buying clothes for the fall?

Probably not until August. I wait until the last minute to make sure I get the right size. She is a growing machine so I need to make sure I get her a size that will fit through most of fall/winter!

I know that DD will probably be in 18/24/2T for fall since DS was that size for over a year (and counting). So anytime I see something in that size come up I snatch it up regardless of the time of year!

@LuLu Mom: same- I prefer to wait until I need stuff, even if it means I won't get as good of a deal. I figure it's still a better deal to only but things that she gets to wear, right? I just don't have a handle on what size she will be.

Not till Aug/Sept. It doesn't get cold here till Oct. Who knows what size she will be in.

Not until it is fall! I can't seem to predict how much she's going to grow so I tend to wait until I need something and see where she's at.

@lawbee11: I'm hoping he still fits in his stuff from last year! We had bought a size up hoping we could spread of out. He is in sizes longer now, so hopefully he'll be in 2T for awhile.

I don't buy ahead anymore, so we won't buy until September? Depends on how warm/.cool it is then

@lawbee11: I think 3-6 month is a size most people but ahead. It would mean they're likely having their babies around now. I bought all 0-12m clothes in advance when I was pregnant.

I buy quite a bit ahead so I can hunt for deals. I try to buy as much as possible from ethical companies or buy pre-loved clothes, so that means a lot of hunting! I'm shopping the Tea Collection sale today for size 2, for next summer.

I'm forcing myself to stop buying ahead. Her growth has slowed so much that i have no idea what size she will be wearing. Hopefully she gets into 18-24 months sometime next winter....gotta keep feeding her that butter and fried chicken

I've got a little for her for the fall/winter already, and I'm keeping my eye on sales. I actually think it's easier to predict her size and buy ahead now that growth has slowed.

Good post! I'm thinking if selling some stuff too! As for buying ahead, I'm now just buying things bigger if she can wear them in the fall too. Ex. The denim chambray shirt I sized up to 2T even though she's barely wearing 12-18. Because I can roll the sleeves and she can wear it belted and looser for the summer. I'm trying to resist buying ahead too much now, except I can't stop buying shoes!!! Lol

I'm always on the hunt for good deals. But for DS I won't buy the majority of his fall/winter stuff until probably Sept/Oct. But I'm on the hunt for baby sister due this Aug! I've already bought her stuff for next summer since Carter's was having a good sale on clearance stuff last week.

M has been right on track (maybe give or take a month) so far so it's been pretty easy to figure out sizing for her.

Where are you finding fall stuff? I would love to start shopping for fall, but everything I am seeing is still summer oriented. (I primarily shop at Gap, ON, and Carter's.)

@septca: I got a great deal on bunch of stuff in the sale baby girl section on Baby Gap's website. Last week all of their long-sleeve bodysuits were marked down to $4.99 and I got jeans and cords marked down to $9.99. I had $50 GapCash so I got 7 long-sleeve onesies, a pair of jeans, 3 pairs of cords, and a hoodie for $50!
