I really can't see myself ever taking LO to a rock concert - not when they're little, anyways. Maybe I'm over-protective, but I just don't think it's an appropriate place for a child. I suppose it depends on the band, but for example, when I saw tons of little kids at a Green Day concert with f-bombs galore, lots of drunk people, women flashing and throwing their bras on stage, and stuff like that...that's just stuff I'm not wanting to expose my child to at a young age. I guess it would depend on the band though. DH is obsessed with Paul McCartney, and that I'd be fine with - well, minus the fact that those tickets cost wayyyy too much money to add on one for a kid! Haha. And I'll be honest, I agree with you that I'd rather just focus on the music!

My parents never really took me to a rock concert. Well, unless count the times in like 9th and 10th grade when I was dying to go to a concert but couldn't drive yet, then sometimes they'd tag along and just hang back in the lawn or seated area while I was in the pit with my friends. Although I'm not sure stuff like Good Charlotte and Simple Plan count as rock like I thought they did back when I was 14

Hmmm I'm not sure, it depends on the musician and the venue. Outside during the day with a more chill artist, maybe pretty early, like 5? I've seen both beck and wilco shows where they brought out their own kids, that was super cute!

My first rock concert was REM when I was 11

We did a free Edward Sharpe show that was huge and outdoors so we took our gal to it and stayed pretty far back. I think she was about a year old. She LOVED it.

i thought about taking DD to mumford and sons last year at 5 months, but didn't because it was for DH's birthday. i'm glad i didn't because it was kinda crazy!

i think an outdoor festival type thing, i would take her whenever it fell... in fact, the fair by us has concerts and we'll probably hit one up next month! we don't have family here, so DD goes with us most places.

I took my toddler to see Chvrches play a short acoustic set recently. Mostly because it was midday and all ages, and we're birth nuts for that band. She mostly just played a game on my phone, but she got pretty excited when her favorite song came on.

I would definitely take D to a concert. It would have to be a concert where we could get lawn "seats" and set up a blanket for him to hang out on, though. He would not sit still in a seat for the duration of a show.

My parents didn't let me go to concerts until I was 16. My first one was at a bar, and I can't remember who it was... it was either Arcade Fire or the Flaming Lips... who knows. I'll definitely take LO when she's a bit older. I love rock concerts!
