How do you split the gifts? Do you buy a smaller gift for both showers? Buy one gift and give it at the first one and a card at the second? This is for a close friend.

i would do 2 smaller gifts. or if there's one nice big splurge gift you get her for one shower, for the other you could write her a heartfelt letter/card.

I would plan on buying two gifts, basically splitting what I would have done for one shower.

I either only go to one shower or buy 2 smaller gifts. It just depends on how close I am to the friend.

Honestly, I would probably just go to one shower. If you want to go to both, I think a big gift at one is fine. No matter how you do it is great.

This has happened to me a couple times with baby showers and I usually buy a big gift for one shower (something off registry) and then just a small token gift and card for the next shower.

this has happened, I've usually done 2 small gifts and then a bigger one for the wedding. Or one friend said "do not bring anything to my second shower your gift was too much for the first one, I want you there for support not to bring me gifts" so I honored her request.
