Do you just power through and try and do all the things that you were planning or do you take advantage of the time off to seriously just lay around and heal?

Ah this wasn't the best trip, huh?
DH is the power through type but I,m the relax types so... it's always a compromise. I dream about the day where we take a vacation that is dedicated to nothing more than relaxation, lol.

@Honeybee: Alright, here's the plan. We vacation together, the boys can go explore with the older girls and do all their powering through and we can sit on the beach and drink fruity drinks and tend to the little ones.
Oh my gosh, I'm so sinus sick right now, it's ridiculous!
But we went whale watching today and it was completely amazing, so I'm glad that Mr. Jacks drags me around to do all his busy stuff!

@Mrs. Jacks: Oh man so sorry you're sick while there! We just went through this, we mostly lounged around and it felt soooo good! My DH is normally the power through type though, lol.

@Mrs. Jacks: done and done! We'll all finally get the vacations we've been dreaming of!
I hope you get a little relief soon; I hate sinus pressure/congestion. However, whale watching sounds incredible!

@Boogs: Mr. Jacks is being very understanding, which is nice... The girls, on the other hand, they don't much care that mama doesn't feel well!
@Honeybee: They say that your IQ goes down 10 points when you can't breathe clearly through your nose. I believe "them"! Wait til you see the whale pics, they were basically playing with the boat. It was so cool!

@Mrs. Jacks: I'm so sorry to hear that! I got a horrible cold when we were travelling around Europe and I powered through because I didn't want to waste the trip. Can you get some Zicam (spray only!)? That usually helps me to make it through.

@Mrs. Jacks: I bet! My LO was bouncing on my when I was nauseous and my stomach was upset. He doesn't know how to leave me alone lol!

@BabyBoecksMom: Good idea. We're about a half hour drive to any store, but I might be able to find some tomorrow. If it wasn't so dang windy, I could just hop in the ocean and use it like a giant neti pot, but right now there are bad high wind advisories!
Ah, well... at least the girls are napping right now!

@Mrs. Jacks: It sounds like you're at the beach (whales aren't so common in lakes!), so you should totally go sit by it if it's windy and inhale deeply or better yet, stick your head right on in the ocean and blow bubbles out your nose. Totally the best saline mist on the planet for un-stuffing noses!

@honeybear: I totally agree and would, but there is a severe wind. Even walking on the beach gets you totally exfoliated right now. We were out there for an hour this morning and the girls were crying about the sand in their eyes. It's just not possible right now, sadly!

Half of my honeymoon I was stuck in our room on the cruise ship because I had a migraine. Dh would bring meals to our room. Even laying in the sun was just too bright and hurt my head. The other half my head still hurt but was was good enough that I could power through and leave the room. Just not do anything too crazy.
Hope you feel better!

@artbee: awww that's super sucky! I'm sorry. You have reminded me that it could be worse. Migraines are so debilitating!

@Mrs. Jacks: yes..... But it was still more fun to have a migraine on a cruise ship then stuck at home in my boring bed

Sorry you're feeling crappy on vacation. I had sinus gunk last week and yuck, yuck, yuck. I was dreaming of just swimming around snorting an ocean to help clear it out, stinks you guys can't get in the water. Sudafed always helps me, I can't take the local nose spray or I get a sinus infection.
Hope you get a mix of relaxation and some fun in the sun, though having 2 LOs seems like there's not much choice but to go, go, go.

I feel your pain. On our honeymoon AF decided to come a week early, and with it insanely horrible, nausea inducing cramps. And when I say "on our honeymoon I mean the morning we flew out it started and it stopped just after we got off the plane back home. My uterus hates Mexico apparently! Which meant none of the usual newlywed fun plus being miserable. (Also the resort with a TON of fancy pools sold pads... no tampons! That was a fun trip into the mexican markets.) I powered through what I could. The pools helped a bunch so we spent most of our time in them. When I was in too much pain to go out, we cuddled in the room.
I do what I can (more than I should) but if I just can't do it, I dont make myself even more miserable. That would turn a bummer vaca into a terrible one! And nobody wants that.

@Maysprout: @Mrs Hedgehog: I hate to say that all the tales of woe are helping me, but they are
Today we were able to get in the water at a very sheltered area. It was like bliss for about 20 minutes. Hooray! And we had a nice relaxing morning overall.
I'm not getting better yet, but I feel better by just doing some normal vacation things. I think Mr. Jacks is going to do some stuff with Lala this evening so I can have some quiet relaxy time when M. goes to bed.
