DD needs to sleep with her Patrick the Pup.
He's not small.
We're going to CA in may and I'm wondering if I NEED to take him.

I always take the kids loveys. DD usually gets like 5 extra stuffed animals in her bed because she likes to be surrounded, too.

She doesn't have a lovely. She only needs her thumb.
My lovely wasn't small as a kid (who am I kidding.... I took it with me until I was married!) And I dragged him everywhere. Australia, new Zealand, Israel, europe, etc. Worth it!

We have 3 of DD's lovey and I always take 2 of them with us when we travel where we won't have access to laundry facilities.

@chopsuey119: Maybe you can work on having a replacement for Patrick the Pup when you travel. DD has 2 loveys. One is her preferred lovey, but she will accept the other one for travel

Yep...ds has a blanket that my grandmother crocheted for him that he's had since he was born. The blanket is a necessity for sleeping. He forgot it last week when he went to stay with my mom, and he got by for two nights without it, but life would have been a little easier for him (and my parents) if he had his own blanket. It's small enough, though, that it doesn't take up too much space.

Yep. We're traveling to visit my family in Indiana on Friday and Lamby will be coming with us! Along with the white noise machine.

We take his elephant along with us. Luckily he is not too big and plenty squishy so he's easy to pack.

We take her lovey and sleep sack everywhere we go that she will be napping, they're lifesavers.
Could you amazon a Patrick the Pup and have it shipped to your destination in Cali?

Just know that you should have back up loveys. At one point we left our daughter's blanket in Tahoe, which required us to order another one right away. We eventually got the old one back and now we have 2.
We also have 2 of the same Jellycat. She knows the difference between Kitty and Fum-a-diddle (their names), but is happy enough with either one, in case kitty is in the wash or left somewhere.

maybe you can buy a mini patrick, and get her used to it before your trip?

We have 4 of each kid's lovey! Angel Dear blankies. We take them everywhere we go, and when we travel we usually take a spare as well.
I agree on the mini patrick?? Or help her choose one to take with her and tell her that patrick has to stay home to watch over all her other toys.

@katiew92081: My daughter has a hand crocheted blanket but I'm too scared to let her use it!! That's sweet that your son is attached to it.
