How often did you check your cervix when TTCing?

I tried it for one cycle, but found it a little more troublesome than just checking CM and temping. I definitely was able to feel the difference in my cervix if I checked it daily though.

I really enjoy consulting with my cervix. I'm not really sure why. Maybe it's because it's something actually physical, not just symptom I am making up in my head.
Now that I can find it- I check multiple times a day. It's so easy to check in the restroom. I simply just wash my hands before and after.

I skip this. I used to chart, use OPKs, and check CM. I felt like I was covering my bases enough with those three!

I checked mine weekly until my fertile week and then daily. But same time every day because it changes throughout the day. Once it goes low and firm I know I'm done being fertile. The month it went back up before af I knew I was ku...which is what I'm pregnant with now. But it rises differently for each woman after conception. You definitely need to know your cervix's pattern after ovulation.

I wanted to try but have not... It's weird, I can stick a tampon up there but I'm afraid to do this! If I have no BFP this month tho, I might start to get desperate enough to try!

As I don't have dripping cm, I have to check my cervix in order to see what's going on in the world of cm. I only check it during fertile week however, and not like a daily thing!

I check it as part of checking my CM but I don't read too much into it as it changes so much, I have had it softish and high then started AF hours later!

I can't reach mine! Vagino-phalanx disproportion, I guess.
So, nope, never. Managed just fine with temps/mucus as my primary birth control for years, and as a TTC tool when the time came.

I do frequently just out of curiosity and to confirm where I am in my cycle. I think it's great to be able to be that familiar with my body...it is just me after all. I'm with you, @holisticmama!

I only checked a bunch of times, but I would do it towards the end of my cycle, a few days before I expected AF to arrive...that way I could try to figure out if I had gotten pregnant that cycle.

@CupQuakeWalk: right? Grosses me out just thinking about it. I'll leave that to the professionals. Haha!

Hmm, before I read through the thread, I thought you meant visually checking your cervix. I check with a speculum and mirror every now and again but I've never monitored for firmness

Never! I tracked my cycles with an iPhone app to know my fertile days. That got the job done!

I tried a few times, but never really got the hang of it.

@anyajenkins: I think it's amazing that you have a speculum! I have a little bump on my cervix that I can feel and I want to know what it is. I think I have an OBGYN appointment sometime this month and I'm going to ask about it.

@HolisticMama: it does come in handy! I've even had my husband take a look for himself- he wore his headlamp and everything LOL

I just started checking daily since my cycles have been longer. I usually check in the shower. In the past I would have thought it was gross...but it really isn't.
