Do you wake him/her? The past two nights, dh has woken lo because she sounded all stuffed up and it made him nervous with her breathing. He picked her up and tried to nose Frieda her. We're new to using it so we are not very efficient especially in the dark, so we upset her and then I ended up nursing her back to sleep but she hasn't slept great after. I'm wondering if we shouldn't wake her - dh says it'll wake her sooner or later and obviously it wakes us up. Just wondering what you guys do! I don't think she has a cold (yet), don't know why she's congested other than she seems to be having teething pain as well.

No, we never wake her and never have. We do use the humidifier when she's stuffy. She wouldn't sleep if it were making her that uncomfortable.

I definitely wouldn't wake her. She HATES the nose frida with a firey passion, so it would be really hard to get her back to sleep. Could you raise the mattress so she would drain a little more? We don't do that because C moves around in the crib too much but it seems like it works for other people.

@Weagle: we do use a humidifier and it helps but not enough!
@Foodnerd81: the mattress is raised a tiny bit (she's still in a bassinet) but maybe I'll see if I can raise it a little more. I agree with not waking, I think I need to convince dh though...

@Pirouette: The humidifier isn't meant to make the congestion go away. It just keeps everything in there more wet so they're more comfortable. And it helps it drain easier. Truly, she will make it clear if it's bothering her.

I wouldn't wake her up...we just nose frida him when he wakes himself up. Using saline drops and the nose frida before bed helps as well. Are you using saline drops when you try to suck out her nose? It makes a BIG difference.

Definitely would not wake DS to nose frida. But if she is congrsted and wakes herself up we use saline drops and then suction with NF. Also we run a humidifier every night.

@Weagle: yea I know, I just find she's still pretty dry even with the humidifier, as am I! It's just so dry in our apt! DH said he wakes her because she is sleeping but does seem bothered (arms flailing, wiggling, etc).
@hilsy85: I'm trying to use the saline, but I don't think I'm doing a great job! I didn't realize the baby drops come right out and the first time I squeezed the bottle and she freaked out. So since then I try to just let drops drip in but I'm not sure thats working. She loves the Frieda but hates the saline, so I try to be really quick with the drops and I just don't think she's getting much actually in her nose! I guess it just takes practice?
