When I'm sick, I really don't go to the doctor unless I am (almost) literally dying. I grew up without health insurance for a lot of my life, and just don't know how to use a doctor properly.
When you're sick, how long before you see a doctor? Ever waited too long to see a doc, and had it backfire on you?

I have to be feeling really bad to go to the doctor and even then, I might still see if things will run their course.

I have to be really sick to see the doctor. Generally that doesn't happen all that often. Usually when I am sick it is a simple cold or bug.

I'd say never, but really twice I went. Both times I was 103; the first time I went to the doctor after 3 days, and turned out I had west nile virus. I still have the notes I took at school when I was sick and THEY MAKE NO SENSE!
Another time I got really really sick really quickly (103+ again), ended up at the ER the same day I started feeling sick, and got hospitalized. Glad I didn't wait on that one or I might have died. ( A friend drove me to the ER in the middle of the night.)

Not long, I go when I don't feel better after 2 days. I learned my lesson when I didn't go to the doctor quickly enough and my stubborn cold turned into a lung infection. Fun times.

I almost never see a doctor when I'm sick. I just call my dad! 
Tell him my symptoms and he'll call in a script for me if necessary.

I go if I've been sick for over a week with no improvement ('cause that's what the cold and painkiller bottles tell me to do).

I can't remember ever going to the doctor for being sick, except one time when I thought I had strep. I just tough it out, which is probably not the best thing!

I normally don't go to the doctor and just let whatever it is pass. Plus, my hubby worked in the pharmacy for 10+ years so he normally goes and gets OTC stuff for me to take. I went to the doctor once and that was bc I felt like I was about to die. Apparently, I had influenza B.
