I went to a Dr. appointment recently and when he came in the room he as coughing and looked feverish. I am in a high risk group and really can't get sick. Would you continue the appointment or ask to leave and reschedule?

If he was wearing a mask, gloves, and washed his hands I would be okay.
But yikes. Doctors need to rest and take sick days too though!

I know and he didn't have a mask, etc. My midwife mentioned she wasn't to happy about the situation either since he was my high risk Dr. I am changing Dr.'s anyway because we have a lot of differing opinions on treatment.

Wow, that's not ok. I'd probably ask not to see him then. Not worth the risk!

Yikes!! I'd probably continue the appointment since you're already there, but I would definitely notify the staff of your concern and dissatisfaction!

Given that he's your doctor I'm sure he was aware of your situation and wouldn't put you at risk. Perhaps he knew he had been on antibiotics for long enough that he was no longer contagious.

While I'd like to agree with PP and say that he was probably okay, I think I'd want to reschedule, but I'd just ask the doctor first.

He may have known he wasn't contagious but he should still have worn a mask considering his profession and his patients being high risk. Seems careless to me and I would have probably asked him to cover up and explained my concerns.
