We got a great deal on a washer at Lowe's using price matching and sales, along with a rebate gift card, but now that we're facing having to purchase kitchen appliances I'm wondering if it's more cost effective to go through an appliance dealer. Thoughts?

This is old, but we did an appliance dealer. They matched the price at Lowe's and gave us free installation. For our gas water heater we did Lowe's. It was just easier.
I think you price it out and go from there!

Not sure, but we're going through a vendor. I'm pretty sure you can find better deals at Sears, Best Buy, etc. We're using our vendor because we're getting Wolf-Sub Zero appliances and they're certified to install. Plus using them gives us an extra year on our warranty!

We got all our stuff from Home Depot. We bought their floor models so got a great deal!

I'm biased bc my father in law has owned an appliance business for years - small businesses will always match prices with the big companies, and if they don't, they always make up for it in other ways (better service, free delivery/installation etc.)
