I need to buy a new pair of black flats and a pair of Ugg like boots. In a perfect world I would love to invest in some quality shoes that are going to hold up for years, but the reality is that I don't have room in the budget for pricey name brands right now, especially since I need 2 different pairs. Does anyone have an off brand they recommend that isn't going to fall apart in a week? Thanks!

For the Ugg-like shoes I like the Bearpaw brand! I had a pair and they lasted for 6 years before dying! I think you can get them at discount shoe stores such as DSW....can't exactly remember where I got mine. You can try googling...I think Amazon or Shoebuy might even have them!

I second DSW! I've also found some great options at Kohl's (Sonoma brand) that have held up really well.

I always try DSW and TJ Maxx/Marshalls first for higher end brands for cheap. If not there, then Target has pretty stylish shoes. Sears, too.

I got a pair of black flats that I looove at h&m a few weeks ago that were only $10. I would check there if you have one nearby.

I used to buy my black flats at Payless. I worked in them all week for months and they held up pretty well. Never cost more than about $10.

@loveisstrange: Yup. Payless has helped me in a pinch. I recently bought some nice shoes from DSW (don't remember the brand) that seemed great in the store but killed my feet so I hobbled to Payless on my lunch break and got some black flats that I have been wearing for the last month to work, no pain.

Do you have a costco near you? I bought a pair of Ugg-like boots there a couple years ago and they are still holding up. I think I spent $30.
Black flats- I know the Gap and Old navy were selling them during the summer (they were more like ballet flats) but IDK if they are still. I would check out Marshalls or TJ Maxx...

Payless. I got the best wide pumps there. I wore them yesterday for LO's baptism and got tons of compliments on them.

All of my flats are from Target and Old Navy! I actually still wear some that are a few years old.

Thanks everyone! I got some boots from Target and some flats from DSW (I had never been there before!). I will definitely have to check out Payless though! I wasn't feeling adventurous enough to take LO to the mall with me today
