I'm excited about our new house but not enthused about buying appliances...we currently rent so we don't own any. We will need a fridge, washer & dryer and new oven!

Home Depot, Lowe's, and Sears are the easiest places to find appliances. If you open a Lowe's credit card, you can get 5% off all purchases (similar to a Target credit card). Also make sure to take advantage of movers coupons from the home improvement stores (I forget which one). If you get a change of address form from the post office, they should give you a packet with information and coupons.

We have been lucky and gotten great deals on floor models discounted at Lowe's and also at Sears Outlet.

Wherever they are on sale! The last appliances we bought were a washer dryer and a TV. They all came from HH Gregg.

When we remodeled, we ended up buying everything from Sears- washer, dryer, fridge, oven, microwave, and dishwasher. There's that commercial about "all ten of the top ten appliance brands." I went there to check out what they had with the intention of buying where I found the best deal, but they have a price match guarantee, plus 10% of the difference. Since we bought so much from them, our salesperson gave us discounts/free delivery and installation.
