I love budget bytes (a blog). There is an app now too but i haven’t used it. She has a ton, great flavors and budget friendly.
Also cooking light always gets me some new ideas. It’s the one magazine i still read!

Budget bytes and skinnytaste are two of my regular favorites. I also use Pinterest a lot.

I follow some food bloggers on Instagram. I haven’t been cooking much new stuff lately honestly but Inspiralized is one of my favorites!

Budget Bytes, Smitten Kitchen, and the Skinnytaste Fast and Slow cookbook are where most of my recipes come from.

Love Smitten Kitchen! Everything we’ve tried from there has been so good. We use our Clean Eating cookbooks a lot too (mostly #2).

@bhbee: @catgirl: @jhd: @erinbaderin: @Aria: Thank you all, these are great suggestions that I wasn't familiar with - going to check them out tonight after LO is in bed. I am so excited for some new inspiration!

I like Iowa Girl Eats (lots of gluten free recipes) and Mel's Kitchen Cafe.

How Sweet Eats (blog) and Chrissy Teigan’s cookbook are where most of my recipes have been coming from lately

@periwinklebee: Smitten kitchen is my fav. I'm also really enjoying Damn Delicious. I signed up for the emails and every couple days I get a new recipe in my mailbox. All the ones I've made so far have been winners! I go for common ingredients and quick prep time, both of these meet that criteria.
Or I start with a protein I want to cook with and then google recipes around that. "Boneless skinless chicken thigh recipe", for example.

Mel's Kitchen Cafe is my absolute favorite food blog! I follow lots of other food bloggers & occasionally use their recipes (including many mentioned above plus Pinch of Yum, Dinner A Love Story, Everyday Reading (when she posts recipes), Gimme Some Oven, Everyday Occasions (when she posts recipes), etc), but Mel's is always my first go to!

For ideas/inspo, Smittenkitchen and another called Orangette—orangette is frequently less work and less time than SK and I think her recipes pay off more reliably. You just have to scroll down forrrrevvver through all the idiotic, flowery autobiographical essays that preceed every. Fucking. Recipe.
If I’m looking for a recipe for something specific that I want to make, Epicurious is a great resource, I’ve consistently gotten 5/5 lifetime forever recipes there. You have to root around through different options sometimes but I think they blow America’s Test Kitchen/Best Recipe/Cooks Illustrated out of the water.

I use the eMeals app for recipes, meal planning, and grocery shopping. They have a ton of meal plan options (low carb, quick and healthy, kid friendly, budget friendly, etc) and the recipes have been really good. I love it! Saves us a lot of time and money.

2nd vote for Mel's Kitchen Cafe.
Skinnytatse.
I eat mainly Paleo, so have a ton of those 8f you're interested. But thedefineddiah.com and paleorunningmomma.com have great recipes for a variety of eating styles.

@LCTBQE: I can’t staaaaand when you have to scroll through weekend recaps and personal sagas before getting to the freakin ingredient list. The “jump to recipe” button needs to be there or half the time I’m too pissed to keep going!
But yes to Smitten Kitchen, Damn Delicious, Pinch Of Yum, and Gimme Some Oven. I’ve also had a lot of luck with Simply Recipes. Real Simple can be good too but recently it’s hit or miss.

These are awesome suggestions - thank you everyone!!!
@LCTBQE: "flowery autobiographical essays" - hah, that cracked me up! Like seriously, I'm rocking life if I have time to cook something decent, forget reading someone's life story. Maybe that part appeals to retirees

@YogiRunner: @periwinklebee: for real, it is insufferably vain and *always* vapid. Orangette really does have wonderful recipes, otherwise I'd be turned off enough not to bother. maybe I'm misremembering but I think I stopped even browsing on Pinch Of Yum because I thought the woman was so infantile.
also @periwinklebee forgot to mention--if you like Indian food my ALL TIME favorite cookbook is Madhur Jaffrey's Indian Cooking, I swear there is not a dud in there, she is so phenomenal. Other cookbooks that I love are Jerusalem and Plenty (same authors), and a new one that's gotten a lot of press and is great is the Alison Roman cookbook.

Another vote for Smitten Kitchen!
@LCTBQE: LOL, I had forgotten about Orangette, I stopped reading her a long time ago for similar reasons. But the recipes were very good and I still use her granola recipe.
Sometimes I’ll go on Pinterest and type in an ingredient or two and see what pops up. But often the recipes are not fabulous/successful.
Is Epicurus still around? I used to use it all the time, same thing, typing in ingredients and seeing what pops up, but I haven’t been to their site in ages. I did like it though because it had recipes from the now defunct Gourmet.
