It's been too hot for walks or the playground on most days recently. So we do a lot of errands and go to the library. I can't think of much else to do that would be suitable for the two. This is just for the afternoons, after preschool, so about a 2 hour time period. Where do you go?

We go to the Zoo, run errands, splash pad or just the water table in our yard.

@Andrea: Just went to a toddler pool alone with the kids this evening! They love playing together in the water... it's tricky watching two in the water, but totally doable (especially if one isn't as mobile).
There are also some playgrounds with water sprinklers/water features... I love those on a hot summer day! Especially if the kids have hats and rashguards...

@mrbee: olive is a lot older though! My baby can't even sit so I would have to hold her the whole time. Wasn't sure if a pool would be fun on my own. I did the splash pad once and that was ok, but to pay parking and admission for that.... eeeh, I am cheap I guess!

@Andrea: It would be way more fun for me if Olive wasn't mobile... watching two mobile toddlers is stressful! Luckily this toddler pool is enclosed and so it isn't as bad...

I take them to Costco, the grocery store, MIL's freezer room, library or Target!

I also used to take the kids to the cafe early in the mornings... they loved that!

DH runs errands with DS - Target, post office, grocery store, Starbucks. Then they go to the splashpad together.
I'm al work all day, I'm jealous of their schedule! -
I take the kids everywhere. We go to the pool, the park, the splash pad, the library, grocery shopping/running errands, and occasionally I take them to McDonald's to play at the playplace and eat an ice cream cone.

Children's museum, splash park, Nordstrom lol, we run in the early morning, outdoor malls, sometimes lunch dates.

@Andrea: WE go to our local mall, which has a carousel... so we ride the carousel in the comfort of the AC!

My son would wreak havoc in a Starbucks, it's not fair to the other patrons!
Do you have an aquarium near you? Sometimes they have a kids exploring table? What about a Nature Center?

It's hard to keep an eye on two when you are alone. Especially if one gets fussy and wants to be carried.... We go to other people's houses for playdates. Splash pad is definitely doable too. And the library is wonderful.

@Andrea: do you have museum nearby? There are a couple of museums here that either have children sections or are children's museums. You could push or wear your lo and let your oo run around? (See what I did there?)

@looch: I am in Starbucks right now! Lol. The closest aquarium is where I met you! Hey, I think there is a nature center. I will see what they have!
@mediagirl: good one, hehe. The museum is far! They have been talking about building one close by for ages. Hope they build it before the kids are in high school!

We're currently visiting my in laws and we've done activities almost every day (a lot of stuff we don't do at home). We went to the local museum and putt putt golfing. We also went to the mall for a walk and I think we'll hit another museum later this week. We also went to the botanical gardens, which was a big hit!

@Andrea: There's a nature center in Stamford. We're probably heading there this weekend to check it out. I haven't been there since my brother was about 4 years old, so I have no idea if it's still decent or what.

One of our nearby malls has an enclosed play area only for little kids which is GREAT. I got ambitious and took them to a huge petting zoo/theme park last week and although it ended with a huge tantrum, we all survived LOL

Oh and MCDONALDS!! Who would have ever known I would be saying that but I love taking them there because it's SO entertaining!!

I would think going to a mall or the grocery store would be fun! Lots of things to look at!
Meaning to ask - when you take both out, is L in a stroller or does she walk? What about K?

@sloaneandpuffy: @Honeybee: I just remembered that the McDonalds two towns over has a playspace! And if it is dirty, we'll have some ice cream while we're there.
