Right now, LO gets strapped in his bouncy seat in the bathroom when I shower but that won't work once he gets more mobile. Where do you put your LO when you shower (and what's LO's age)?

I also put DS in the bouncy when he was little, and then in the pnp when he got bigger, if his dad wasn't home to watch him.

I shower at night after he goes to bed. I've never been brave enough to do it while he's awake.

LO is almost 1 and I put him on the floor of the bathroom or our adjoining bedroom. I put a few toys down and he crawls around. There is nothing on the floors that he can do damage with! I am usually in and out in 3 mins!

I wait until nap time so I can take a more relaxing shower.

I put him in the rock n' play until he started walking at 9 months, now I put him in the pack n' play. I really want the graco travel light portable crib for the bathroom but they are pretty hard to find at resales in neutral colors. I always seen to find the pink and brown one.

I also shower during the morning nap with the monitor on a higher volume. It's much more relaxing. When she wasn't napping I did the bouncy seat on the bathroom floor.

Once he outgrew the bouncer, I put him in a walker. Now at 15 months old, he just wanders around the bathroom playing and I can see him through the door. Usually he just sits by the door "talking" to me. He has a drawer he plays with plus I have toys in there.

@rahlyrah: I think the basic pnp is worth it for travel anyway- we use it when we are visiting someone even just for a whole day, for naps (which I guess wouldn't help you if he only naps on you!) I expect to use it as a travel crib for a year or two though.
If you put his play mat in his crib would he hang out there while you shower quickly? I've done that while I'm putting stuff away in C's room since he is happy on the play may, but she is younger than your Lo.

Can you sneak a shower when he's still asleep in the morning, or once he goes to bed at night? Right now I put C in the bouncer, but he hates that already, haha. My best bet is to get one while he's sleeping or once DH gets home.

I put mine in our swing and mamaroo! Occasionally they'll be chilling on their playmat on the floor and then I just leave them there....

I shower while he's asleep, either while he's napping or after he goes to bed!

We have an infant to toddler rocker that I put him in with a few books. When he's mobile I'm guessing I'll shut the door and let him play some toys on a beach towel? Yikes. I'm not ready!

In a bouncy chair when she was little, then the jumparoo, now either her highhiar or I just let her wall around the bathroom. Dd is 16m. With #2 I am going to have to shower at night on days DH traveling for work.

I do the exersaucer in the bathroom, or put her in the crib with the mobile and music on while I shower. Or I do it during her naps. My husband does the same when he showers and gets ready in the morning after I've gone to work.

My LO is 4 1/2 months and I shower at night after she goes to bed.

the swing now-- I just leave the bathroom door open so I can hear if she starts hollering, she's a month old now-- maybe use a pack and play when they're a little bigger- you can either drag it into the bathroom or put it right outside the doorway and leave the door open so you can hear them.

4 months and I try to shower during morning nap. If I have to shower when she's awake, I put her on play mat outside bathroom with some toys.

LO is almost 19 months and I put him in the pack and play with cartoons on. I tried to put toys in there to occupy him, but he flings them out....so tv it is!

During nap time or at night when my husband was home. I was too much of a nervous nelly to leave him in anything.

M is 14 months and I put her I'm the pack & play with a bunch of toys while I shower. We've been doing that since about 6 months. She doesn't cry because we do it every day and she knows I'll be back soon.
I think I simple p'n'p would still be a good investment. We take ours everywhere. She's napping in hers right now because we're at my parents'.

H is 2.5 months, and I put her in her Moses Basket in the bathroom with me. I don't know what I'll do once she's mobile, our bathroom is teeny with no room for a PNP. Probably gate her in her room and bring the monitor with me.

I've always showered during nap time. She's woken early a couple times, but I figure that teaches patience.

DD is eight months old. I never shower while she's awake. Typically I shower at night after she's gone to bed.
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22276 posts
She's 15 months and I just bring toys in the bathroom and shut the door. I move anything she shouldn't get into. Otherwise I shower when she naps, when DH is home, or at night.
pomelo / 5678 posts
If she wants to be in her swing... (rare)... it is right outside the bathroom in the master. We have a stokke crib so what I do is put her in there and wheel, yes wheel, her in the bathroom with me. She loves it! 6.5 mo. I mostly shower when she is asleep at night or with dh holding her.

LO is 13 months old and we are at the end of using the rnp while I shower. We have used that since infancy and I park it right outside the bathroom door (which is open). He's at the point now where he hates going in it and hen wriggles, so I need to come up with something new.
That rnp was a lifesaver for sooo many months! Wish they made a bigger one!!!!

I rarely shower these days!! I tend to jump into LO's tepid bathwater every evening after she has gone to bed (and my hair is washed maybe twice a week, while DH is home - disgusting, I know!!) On the very rare occasions I do attempt to shower while home alone with DD, I put her in her bouncy seat in the bathroom but she throws a hissy fit when she's not getting any attention so it always ends badly! If I try to shower during nap time it wakes her up and I end up running across the landing dripping water to put her dummy back in - not relaxing at all!
She's 5 long, filthy months old!

It's usually a non issue because I shower late but I put her in the crib with a few toys and have for a long time

Usually shower before she is up or during nap on the weekends.
I have brought the exersaucer in the bathroom.

I just let mine hang out in the bathroom with me. She has a drawer of fun toys to play with. It's a good kick in the pants to keep your bath room floor clean.

I used to shower during her morning nap. When she got bigger I switched to showering at night once she was asleep or waiting until my husband was home.

I wait until DH comes home and shower in the evenings. Occasionally I'll shower when baby naps and give my toddler the iPad to watch PBS kids.
blogger / pomegranate / 3491 posts
I wait til nap time or shower at the gym while he is at kid care. If I ABSOLUTELY have to, I will bring his high chair in the shower and give him breakfast while I take a super fast shower (usually with a shower cap on, just to wash and rinse)
