I haven't worn a watch in forever, probably not since I got a cellphone so that meant college! Now with a baby I really need to wear one again b/c I don't always have my phone with me when we're out... My mom gave me her super nice watch to wear but it's not even working!

Jewelry counter. Macy's probably has a watch repair stand. I know that in the bigger department stores they do around the optical places.

If it's a really nice watch, just make sure the jewelry counter is authorized to repair that brand. If they're not and they damage it, it can cause problems trying to get it fixed.

@PurplePeony: This is good advice. If you've got a vintage Rolex (or whatever), you need to go to a jeweler who is authorized to repair and maintain that brand. Contact the watchmaker to find one.

Yep, any jewelry counter and at some malls I've seen a kiosk with jewelry and they also have signs that say "watch repair".

@honeybear: It's no Rolex hahaha. It's from Nordstroms I just no longer have one close to me so I think I'll try Macys!

@snowjewelz: the jewelry counter should be able to tell you if they can do it or not. My DH has a Tag Heuer and when he took it to Macy's, they had to send it out and it took like a week because they couldn't service that brand in the store. The next time, he went to Nordstrom and they could, so he just browsed around for 20 minutes while they changed it. So it really depends!

@snowjewelz: you might be able to look up authorized repair sites on the watch brand's website. If that doesn't help, also try calling some jewelry stores in your area. I'm sure you can find someplace to do it!

I go to those stores inside the mall that specialize in watch battery replacement.
