Home was always where I grew up - still to this day my friends will ask me "are you coming home anytime soon?"
I usually say "we are heading to MD" these days but the other day I caught myself saying "home" again.
I consider where we live now home and do call it that as well - but I think I will always call MD home too!

Lol wherever I'm sleeping that night. It sort of annoys my husband but I call anywhere home. If I'm at my house and headed to my parents' I say I'm "headed home for the weekend." At the end of the weekend when I'm going back to my house I say I'm "headed back home." Even when we are on vacation and staying in a hotel I'll say "whelp I'm tired, want to head home[the hotel]?"

Aw, I never had a home growing up or anything since we moved a lot, but now where I live with dd and dh and dog is home!

I just got used to calling our home home, and calling my parent's places my parent's place!

@snowjewelz: same. My home is the place I live with my husband. I moved out of my parents house many, many years ago, so maybe that's why their home isn't my home. But I also live in the same city as them, and I only lived in the house they own now for about a year.

@Mae: I'm the same way! I had to be careful though when I was traveling for dissertation research: I was living abroad/away from my husband almost all of last summer, and I felt so bad catching myself calling my temporary apartment "home" to him, bc of course it's nothing like our home together

My childhood home and my adult home aren't in the same countries so when I currently think of home I think of my adult home, particularly since my parents no longer live there.

I just recently made the transition of calling our house "home" - we tend to call my parent's house Branchwater (the street they live on) to keep it from getting confusing. They also just bought a new house that they are renovating, so by next year "home" won't be somewhere I ever lived! I think I was impacted by my parents living in the same house for 25+ years - I've lived there a lot longer than I've lived in my current house.

I used to call CA home before I had kids.
Now I say I'm going to visit my family in CA when we go out there.
Home is where my husband and kids are.

Home is where I live currently, but in my heart, my parent's home will always be "home". They still live where I grew up and my room is still the same.

I refer to both where I live and my childhood as home depending on the circumstances.

I call both places home. I only get to visit my family twice a year, but it will always be home to me. Even if everyone I know leaves San Diego, it will always be my home.
