We've decided that a bar height table is not practical with young kids and parents getting older. Sooo we're in the market for a new dining room table. We want something very solid that will last for many years so we're willing to spend money on it. If I had to describe I would say our kitchen is modern country. Our main living area is a open floor plan. The kitchen flows into the dining room which opens into the living room which has a fireplace with a dark gray slate tile.

I love the look of farmhouse tables but not sure if it's too country for our aesthetic. We also want a removable leaf for the holidays.

I'm a frugalista so I'm def not opposed to waiting for a sale! However, DH really wants it here by Christmas.

Any suggestions? Where did you buy your table from?
