I got a job (YAYYY!). But I haven't worked an office job since 2012 and none of my old dress clothes fit!

Congrats on the job!
I love Banana Republic, J Crew and Talbots. They fit me well, go on sale regularly and are decent enough quality that if I get called into a meeting with senior execs, I don't feel under or over dressed.

Gap, Talbots. That being said- I wear dance clothes everyday (since I am a dance teacher) so I am not a huge help!

I love Jcrew and Jcrew Factory. I usually buy them when they have a sale.

Banana Republic - such amazing quality! I have work pants I bought 10 years ago and they still look great!!

Ann Taylor, J. Crew, Banana Republic.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE Calvin Klein work dresses (shift, A-line, etc.), which I find at Nordstrom, Bon Ton and Macy's. Good quality and flattering cuts.

@Smurfette: That is where I got a pair of dress pants for interviews and they are really nice. I definitely need to go back!
@looch: Thank you!
@cheert16: My side job is a dance teacher. So I live in dance clothes or jeans and a tee shirt if I am home with LO!

Banana Republic is my favorite. I stop in there just to window shop all the time

Congrats!
My favorite work pants are from LOFT. Good quality. I like Target and Old Navy to stock up on affordable tops and cardigans (cheap so I can get several colors of the same style). I have some work dresses I love from Target as well.

Target! We don't have any good work clothes shops here... I'd pretty much give anything to have a Banana Republic in my town! So since my choices are limited, I usually pick up basics at Target.

J. Crew, Gap, The Limited on occasion. Express pants fit me really well without tailoring.

I just placed a big order from banana as i am now down to about 6 outfits in my rotation!
Jcrew is great for suits, you should buy at least one to have on hand.

I'm starting a new job in a couple weeks and it's business casual to business attire. Currently, I'm business attire in Court/around clients are totally casual (jeans, etc.) otherwise. Some of my nicer work clothes are SO old too.
I went to Macy's and it was a complete bust. Other than the outlets like Banana Republic, I like TJ Maxx or Marshalls. I get overwhelmed and annoyed shopping so I find that easier.

I agree with others, Banana Republic (always use a coupon or wait for a promo code) and agree with @yoursilverlining on the Calvin Klein dresses, I love them! I see them on some of the flash sale sites sometimes too (usually rue la la) and I snap them right up.

I also like Worthington from JCPenney. Sales all the time, and their long pants are actually long!

The Limited. The only dress pants that are long enough in store without having to buy tall online. TJ Maxx for dresses and tops and Old Navy for basics. I hate spending lots of money on clothes.
