My sister is going to NYC next month and is trying to find a good place to get Ramen. Any recommendations?

Ippudo is really popular (and good!) but there is always a huge wait! It's only worth it for me to go there once every couple of months but it really is good.

I heard that Sakagura has a good Ramen lunch special, but I have only been there for dinner with their regular izakaya menu.

eta: another place that is really good is menchanko tei. -
@betsyboop: forgot about momofuku! I liked ippudo's broth better but momofuku's pork buns were definitely superior!

Ivan Ramen may be open soon. I would also check out Chuko in Brooklyn.

Ippudo, of course... I would get there as early as possible to shorten the wait though! I like the Akamaru Modern.
Less well known to tourists is Jin Ramen, near Columbia University. I actually prefer it over Ippudo.
Totto Ramen in midtown is good as well.

Everyone I know votes for Ippudo! When we tried to go last year, we got there at 5:30 and the wait was 3 hours for a table for 2.
We walked down to the East Village and ate at Minca instead. It was delicious! Tiny little place and I think it was cash only.

I've only been to Momofuku and Ippudo, and Ippudo was delish! The wait wasn't nearly as long as they had projected for us.... we went off to do something else, only to have them call us 20 min. later! It was cool though, they honored their original est. wait time and we got sat almost immediately after we went back!

Ippudo! Last time we went, we gave our phone number, and they texted when our table was ready. We went to a bar to wait (much better than hanging out there, getting angry every time someone else is called!), also it was like 1.5 hours even though they told us 3.
