For DD1, she had about 10+ words before Dada came out... and then another 4 or 5 before she said Mama
DD2 doesn't like to talk (rather grunt and point), but so far, she has 3 words (16 months) and none of them are our names.

Dada was first for DS and second for DD (after dog!). Mama was probably 3rd or 4th word for DS, but he still only uses it sporadically. DD (almost 15 months) has had a mini language explosion in the last week and is only just now saying mama. She has about 10 other words and a couple dozen signs (but she doesn't sign mama either).

Mama was first! Good girl. It was mama, dada, doo-doo (dog), Goo (her version of our dogs name). After that I can't remember.

While she loved saying Dadadada, Mama was the first word she associated a meaning to. Then ball, Dada came a few words later but wasn't far behind.

LO1 - he probably had about 15 words before he said mama around 15 months.
LO2 - mama was her second word after bye bye. She started saying it and meaning it around 9 months.

Mama was the first real word for B - like Mrs Hedgehog, he'd say dada but it didn't mean his daddy. His first words were basically Mama, Dada, and Lola, which is one of our cats, but he uses it to mean cat in general - all cats are Lolas.

I think DS said mama first, but not sure because he didn't say it often for a long time! And it may have been my imagination, but since he was less than one month, he was making this noise that sounded like my name whenever he was hungry. I've never heard other babies make that noise... he might have picked it up from DH calling me

I was number 20 and dada was number 3! Her first two were "hi" and "art arf". As an SLP I counted all her words in a little book but then had to give up when we reached 300.
