With Charlie, I was at work and got Bee's message right away!
With Olive, I was actually at a cafe in a business meeting and my phone didn't have reception! Bee's phone call finally made it through and she said, I'm in labor where have you been!!! I think I switched to Verizon shortly afterward... (ETA: Bee was just 35 weeks along so I wasn't expecting a call about labor just yet!)
Where was your SO when you went into labor? Were you able to easily get in touch with them?

My water broke at 5am so we were both home in bed. If he had been at work, it would have been much more dramatic!

When my very first contractions started, he had been at work for about 45 minutes and got my messages. I texted him how my contractions were doing all day (plus my dad was there with me in case anything happened). When I finally told him to leave at 1, he left at 1 and came straight home. I was 40 weeks, 4 days so he was always on alert.
In case his phone messed up or something though, one of his coworker's gave me his cell and office phone just in case.

@mrbee: oh my gosh, I would have had a mini panic attack if I were her!
I started contractions around 8am, and finally woke up DH at 9am, so he was in bed!

@Bao: It wasn't the best scenario! I edited my post to clarify that she was 35 weeks along, and we weren't expecting such an early labor!

My contractions were 12-15 minutes apart so he went to work, but came home early.

We were at home and it was during a holiday weekend so LO has impeccable timing. If it were any other day, my husband would have been at work!

With both kids I went into labor at work, and DH worked with me. When I went into labor with DD, DH was at.a lunch meeting and didn't have reception (just like Mr. Bee!). I ended up calling the restaurant and they told him (and his whole table!) that I was in labor. With DS I just walked upstairs to his office and told him I was having contractions (and then we hung out for a few more hours so he could finish up a project, lol).

DH was with me, thankfully. I didn't realize my water had broken at 1AM that morning, and he came with me to my OB at 1PM that afternoon to get checked (I totally expected them to send me home and say I just peed my pants but NOPE, then made us walk right across the street to the hospital!)

I went into labor at 9:30pm on a Sunday so he was home with me.

I never had the water breaking kind of labor since I was induced at 41 weeks. He worked overnight shifts every day the week before so everyone was on baby watch!
