We met most of our parent friends on the playground or at daycare. Since most people do not have a car here and we congregate at the playgrounds, you run into the same people over and over again.
When it comes to making parent friends, distance is really the greatest factor. Though I have friends with kids (that were friends pre-kids), they live too far for us to get together often.

Church and college.
For us I think the kid's ages are the greatest factor. Makes it so much easier to want to get together when we know the kids are looking forward to the playdate too!

My BFF and another friend who we've grown closer with since they had a baby too. Being in the same city definitely makes it easier for us to get together.

Elementary school, high school, college? Most of my friends happened to follow the same timeline so we've kept close. DH's best friend has a little girl that is 11 days older than our DD, so it's a built in BFF and they live 5 houses down!

I don't have many mom friends! Of the few that I am close to, I met one on HB, one at a local mom group, and one at My Gym. I also have a friend who I've known for years who also has kids.

Local mom group for my "in person" friends. And wedding bee for my best online mom friends group. We started as a birth month group there and moved it to a private FB group. Those girls are my parenting life line, for sure.

Some pre-kids frnde from HS although due to distance our friendships are almost entirely online. We meet maybe a few toes a year. My neighbor had a baby 5 months after me so we take walks together but I don't like our kids playing together cuz her son is so rough. Bit my kid right on the face!! I also hit it off with my new optometrist and she turned out to have kids around the same age AND lives around the corner from me.

I met some absolutely wonderful mums at antenatal classes, our babies are all born within seven weeks of each other and I really miss them now we've moved. I've also met some awesome mums and families in our new town at Playgroup and music class.

High school. We reconnected bover Facebook. Its funny BC we never hung out together during high school and now we all talk and visit all the time. There's 4 of us with babies all within 4 months of one another.
