I prefer Graco over Britax, personally. Plus the color is better. My girl loves having her own cupholder for her sippy and with that much difference in the height, the contender is the smarter choice.

We have the Graco size4me, which is very similar to the contender. E is a big kid, 90th percentiles, and I wanted something that would last us to booster age. We were able to RF until 3.5 when he met 40lb weight limit, which was important to me. We got two seats for around $300 and have been super happy with them.

We have the Chicco next fits and we love them, so easy to install and adjust size/recline.

@simplyfelicity: I think the britax will be a pain. I have two britax seats that I LOVE, but they are click tights and both have a no rethread harness.

This seat will be a pain to install once you need to use a seatbelt and the harness straps would be super annoying!

I've never owned a graco, so I can't comment on it.

We have that Graco for our babysitter and I really like it! It's really easy to adjust the straps because you don't have to rethread. I love our britax seats too, but we have a Blvd and a clicktight pioneer, they both have the no rethread harness. Out of the 2 you have pictured I would get the graco.

@simplyfelicity: The contender will likely fit. I have the older version (My Ride 65) which is a bit wider and it fits really well in the back of my Nissan Versa.

@simplyfelicity: we have both (well similar models). The graco seems to sit up higher and is much wider. The higher sides made it much harder to get her into it when she was bigger. Both of my kids are 85-90% height and have been fine in the Britax. But when she turned four we got her the britax combo booster.
