This castle tent. It's as tall as me and fits two people inside. We live in a small condo so it takes up roughly 1/8 of the entire living room kitchen area, and it's not a quick Pop up fold down thing. But c loves it so we've left it up.

Baby Eienstein Take Along Tunes!!!! My mom made me put it on M's wishlist because she loves music. I didn't want to because I know those songs over and over would drive me mad. Well, MIL bought it, and yep. 12 hour car ride yesterday, and she can't push the button yet so I had to. Over, and over, and over.

All the clothing my MIL bought for D. He's 3. She got him 18-24m. I asked her for gift receipts and she acted like I just told her her dog died. Woman, you babysit the kid at least once a month - take a peek at his tags every now and then! I know I sound ungrateful, but this happens every time she gets him clothing. And she buys stuff on clearance at the outlets so if I try to return or exchange without a receipt (which she never saves), I get like a dollar. And she buys Carter's stuff so it's like a wild goose chase trying to find out where they actually cage from - the outlet, Target, Kohl's... Earlier this year I stopped trying to figure it out and just sold or gave the clothing away. It's freaking irritating.

Melissa & Doug animal noise puzzle. At 1 she's surprisingly good at taking the pieces out, but since they never go back in it will randomly make noises (meows and quacks especially) all the time!

@skipra: My parents have developed this weird Hess truck obsession. It's like they concluded that this is the perfect toy and therefore they are the perfect grandparents for purchasing it for my son. He admittedly loves it because he has very few electronic toys, and he is totally obsessed with fire trucks. But they are so invested in it. I don't get it!

And yeah, it's loud!

@skipra: my parents gave my son the Hess truck last night. He is obsessed, so obsessed that he slept with the mini fire engine last night. When he woke up this mornin, all he wanted was the big truck. It is pretty cool , but at 6 am it is loud and the lights flashing are annoying!

The obnoxious tacky stuffed animals MIL got for free and regifted as the kids Christmas gifts. They clearly say the product name on them. I guess she didn't have time to shop before leaving on her ski trip.

@littlebug: my IL's bought matching pjs for my boys a month ago. I mentioned that I needed to exchange DS2s for a bigger size and MIL said "I know he wears 9 month, but there weren't any, and 12 month seemed too big." So they got 6 month. Um... You bought clothes you knew were too small?

We got 3 ride on/loud and large toys. LO is only 6 months so we will be returning at least one of them.

@Cherrybee: My grandmother and aunt buys DS huge clothes all then time. He's 2, but is tiny and still wears 12 months. This year my grandmother bought his 4T and my aunt got him kids small (size 6/7). The way DS grows, he'll be ready for these clothes when he's a teenager.

Talking Elmo. I ok'd this gift when MIL asked about it, but he's obnoxious and I apparently hate Elmo. Luckily it's not F's fave gift. It make have batteries out soon.

Hahah another vote for the Hess truck! Admittedly, I do like them. I think they're fun and well-made and was excited when his grandma told us she'd be getting it for him. But the sounds get annoying.

Even more annoying though is this spinning minion with flashing lights that sings. Omg. J LOVES it of course. Oi.
